SOURCE: What does it mean when I get a message that says "please insert memory card" on my JVC Everio GZ-MG21U?

Make sure you're using an SD card, not a higher-capacity SDHC card. The GZ-MG21U works with SD cards, not with SDHC cards.

SOURCE: JVC EVERIO GZ-MG175

I took camera to shop where I bought it and asked them direct, so they could show me what I needed to do.

I actually decided against using FixYa - not because I didn't think you would give me right information, but because of the cost - I'm on a pension only.

But thank you for contacting me.

SOURCE: Memory card

I think the largest card you can use is a 4G SD card.

SOURCE: JVC Everio MS100RU memory camcorder. When burning

1) I shut down ALL unnecessary processes, especially McAfee

2) I switched to white-coated DVDs. I read somewhere (can't now find the url), that drives that write to DVD-ram as well as other formats need the white-coated DVDs (I used Sony), as opposed to the silver-coated ones (Verbatim, Memorex, HP. [I used Nero, Info Tool, to diagnose my DVD drive.]

3) Changed burn speed to 4x.

SOURCE: Hi, I have a JVC

Hi,
JVC GZ-MG21U camcorder hardware does support maximum 2GB SD Card and more than 2GB memory card will not accepted by camcorder hardware.
Your 16GB and 4GB SD Cards are just fine but are not compatible with this particular camcorder and GZ-MG21U is also just fine and needs up to 2GB or less SD memory card.
It is just compatibility issue. Click JVC Support link to download user manual copy of GZ-MG21U and check page-67 of manual for memory card info.
Hope this info will help you.
Thanks.

Why does my camera say card error?

Hi,

You probably need a Card Reader to access the Cards on your PC if you are trying to transfer pictures from Card.

What size micro memory card does the JVC Everio GZ MG360 take

The GZ-MG360 takes microSD cards. Make sure you get a microSD card, not a microSDHC card. While a microSDHC card will fit into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work. microSD cards go up to 2GB in size, microSDHC cards start at 4GB and go up.

Do i need a memory card to record..

No you do not need a memory card to record. The JVC Everio GZ-MG130 is a hard disk drive camcorder with a built-in 30 gigabyte hard drive to record to. You can, however, use an SD memory card if you want to add additional space to save your videos and pictures to.

Error with CF card

did you delete all card files on your pc?
if so, camera will not function properly. Try formating the cf card on your computer and format it again inside JVC camera,
try inserting a normal cf card(should work) in order to find if you have a faulty cf card
hope it helps

JVC EVERIO CAMECORDER

Have you recently added an SD card? My Everio was doing the same thing. I found out a co-worker had added a new SD card with more memory. In looking at the user guide, the card was not listed as one that was "guaranteed compatible". I removed the new card and the camera is back to starting up fast and no HDD error. Even though I was not storing data to the SD, it was apparently causing data access problems for the HDD.
