Frigidaire upright freezer Model #FFU17C3AW1 Not keeping cold

I have owned this upright freezer since new. mfg date 06/2002. Manual thaw. Freezer is not staying cold enough to harden Icecream. Just a couple weeks ago, we took it in to a local repair shop. They had it unpluged for 3 days. Plugged it in, for 4 days. had special internal tempuratue gauge. Said ran just fine. Got real cold quick and stayed cold for the 4 days they had it. I got it back home, plugged it in the next day to let oil go back into compressor, ect. put food back in and worked AWESOME!!! Icecream stayed hard. 1 1/2 weeks later, Icecream was soft. I thought to unplug freezer. Two days later Icecream was solid again. GREAT!! I got it fixed....right. week later Ice cream is cold again. I presume the problem is the t-stat. Is that the problem and if so, is the part # to replace 216788100? Where to buy t-stat. shipping to 84660

Thanks

Yes that is the correct part number.
If a new cold control does not correct the problem. Replace the compressor start relay.

Frigidaire Freezer Model FFU17C3AW1 door not sealing properly?

Good Afternoon Vonaspern,

I understand that you are having trouble with the door sealing properly on your Frigidaire freezer, model# FFU17C3AW1. I see that you have already checked to make sure there is nothing blocking the door from closing as well as making sure there was nothing between the door gasket and the freezer body. Next, I would check to make sure that the gasket is not damaged or compromised in any way. If it is not damaged, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your freezer and determine what is causing your appliance to properly seal. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Hello Michael - Sounds like the temperature control was accidently turned OFF. When this occurs the temperature control turns off the compressor, but does not disconnect the power to the light bulb or other electronics. Let's try activating the freezer by pressing the UP arrow until display shows "4" or desired setting. Allow 24 hours for temperature to stabilize. For future reference you can lock the control to keep from accidently changing the temperature setting. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if the unit's status has changed successfully. Thank you.

I just set up my Frigidaire upright Freezer, only

Rule of thumb, if you lay a frig/freezer on side let sit upright at new location for 24 hours before plugging it in.

Not all the shelves are getting cold

All the shelfs should be getting cold starting at the top and working down. It may have a leak in the system or a restiction not letting the freon flow. It could of had the problem before the defrost. Small enough problem to stay frozen but won't bring back down to temp. Check to see if it's still in a sealed system warranty if so call for service.

Small frigidaire with very small freezer completely fill with frost

Most of the smaller freezers are not self de-frosting, Im not certain about the one you have but usually the only way is to unplug them and let them thaw out for a few hours. Make sure to put towels down to absorb the water or you may have a mess.
