Advent DVD player in car won't eject DVD

Please help! I inserted my son's DVD into the Advent player in our car and now it says, "Bad Disc" and won't eject. Toyota service dept isn't able to help for another 5 days or more. I need to get this disc out!!!!!!!! Can anyone suggest something??

  • billybarooni Apr 29, 2009

I have the same problem but I put it in in frigid weather.(might of heard a crunch). I live in a remote area in Canada and have no where to take it. Should it not have a pin hole to stick a paper clip into? don't think tweezers will work because you can't see the disk.

Help mother of 4 under 8!

Same problem for me, but believe it or not, we tapped on the DVD player with our knuckle (not bang on it) then hit eject and the disc came out.

Knocking worked! Two DVDs were in there. :/ but they both ejected after knocking.

To cnelson108. Your solution for a stuck DVD worked. A couple of taps, gentle taps on the face of the DVD player worked. My vehicle is a 07' Chevy Tahoe and it worked. Thank You.

Knocking on it worked! Thanks. Turns out two DVDs were in there but as soon as I knocked on it and pushed eject, they both ejected! Crisis averted.

Dvd won't eject from RCA tv/Dvd combo

While hitting the eject button use a small flat screwdriver or butter knife to ease door open, probably the rubberband like belt broke or the gears jammed up!

Hi I cannot find the dvd eject button on my sony bravia. Can you please help me

All the new models of DVD player have no eject buttons. Its a safety feature to prevent the eject door from jamming or motor failing when somebody ejects the disc while the player is in a cabinet with a glass door. Also the logic is one has to approach the player to remove or insert the disc anyway !!!

Opens and closes repeatedly

hello,

The most common reason for the player opening and closing itself is a bad drive. The following website sells the drives and does installs:

store.richspsxparts.com/wiiredvddr

This drive should fix any reading issues you are having with your player, or issues inserting your games or ejecting them (or lack thereof). This is the entire DVD drive assembly mechanism replacement for your player including a new laser. If your discs are not ejecting, or you cannot insert a disc -- or you can insert a disc but it will not load, this is what you need to get your player going again!
Hope this helps...

2006 Toyota Sienna with an ADVENT DVD

Well, if its crammed in there from kids shoving stuff in there as kids will tend to do sometimes, then i am sorry to say, you most likely will need to get a new player. Cause general when something is jammed into disc slot, other components that are vital to operation have been compromised. But on the other hand. If it was working and operating fine one minute, and the next it simply just wouldn't eject. Your problem is one of the 2. Is the player making any noise as if it is trying to eject the disc but will not, and can you still at least play the disc and watch it since its already in there? If so. It sounds like you have a bad gear or a little spring that has popped that engages the gear to make the mechanism for disc ejection impossible. Or the main drive belt has dried and broke. Take it to a local tech. 2nd. If its not making any noise when eject button is pressed. The button itself might be bad. Try the remote controls eject button. If it has one, that might eject the disc. Hope this helps. And in tghe future, no paper clip tricks okay. Only damage can occure with that method. good luck,

''Bad disc'' error when any disc loaded in JVC XV-N670B DVD Player

There may be a connection to the problem, but it sounds like the laser assembly may need to be replaced as well as/or the mpeg printed circuit board(the printed circuit board) attatched to the laser assy. Good Luck.

Every disc is a "Bad Disc".

This is due to faulty DVD lens/head. Try cleaning it with DVD/CD hed cleaning CDs.If still the problem persists, contact near by service center for replacing the faulty Lens.
