Poor color printing of photographs from computer

Re: Canon PIXMA MX850

Printing in b/w is great for files, mail, etc.
However, when printing color photos, poor color quality - too much of a particular color, not clear. Also, run out of ink too often, and replacing cartridges is costly. Any suggestions to make them last longer?

SOURCE: Poor print quality .... Canon Pixma MP140 ...

Paper quality does make a difference in the quality of print, but it's usually in the areas of blurriness and vibrance. If your prints are coming out faded, the quality for your prints might be set to 'economy', which doesn't use very much ink. If you have it set for 'quality' prints, I would try replacing the ink cartridges.

SOURCE: scanned photograph prints are of a poor color

Hi there

You need a program that you can use on your PC with this program you scan it to your PC and then print it out, ok you need a program like art or photo or paint or some thing like this that have a scan in it.

Read more below.
The best program to put on your Pc is what I use and it is Free you, it is called PagePluse SE, you should try it you can do all sort of things with it but there no scan on it, just scan your photos to the your pc with another program witch has scan on it and put them in the SE program and you can do any size you wont and after adding text to it or backgrounds you can send it to the printer and print, an other program I use for scanning from the printer to the PC is called PainShop Pro 7 witch is a old program there newer ones out now but I am happy just using the old one it does the trick.

The Free version is Called PagePluse SE you not need the version 9.

Ok here the link to download the PagePluse SE program and it not a free trial it a free, there is one you can Buy but this is all you need download the free one it just as good.

Click Link = http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/software/pageplus/index.asp

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

recalibrate the printhead, clean the printhead. In the printer driver you need to select the right paper.

I have a canon pixma MX850. I have connected to my network. Printing works fine. When I go to scan, the printer ask to which computer. I don't understand the question, much less the solution. Ho

Many machines allow network printing but not network scanning. I think you will find that the MX850 driver and MP Navigator software simply does not support network scanning. I suggest you query Canon directly.

Why does canon 860 pixma printer have 2 black ink tanks? only one seems to be used,

The big black tank is pigment based ink used mainly for printing text documents and copies and the smaller black is dye based ink used along with the color inks during photo printing.

Duplex printing flips page

That should be a setting somewhere in the printer or the print driver on the computer.
Here's a link to the manuals that comes with it.

Instructions for printing addresses on envelopes from letter.

I assume you're using Microsoft Word? If so, click on File, then Print. Select the MX850 printer and enter page "0" in the box where you specify which pages to print. This will print just the envelope and not the entire letter.
