The screen on my camera says 'Memory Card Locked'. The solution is to take out the memory card and flick the switch on the side. But I can't take the memory card out- it appears to be stuck. At the same time as the screen starting to say 'Memory Card Locked' the memory card only comes out half way so I can't flick the switch. How do I solve this problem??

SOURCE: Photos stuck on integral memory?

When viewing pictures, select the 'Menu' option. Scroll down and on the second page there's a 'copy' function that can either transfer photos from internal memory to a memory card or vice versa.

I didn't know this was possible until today, either. Handy!

SOURCE: locked memory card

This must be an SD card. To the left of the card is a little button that says lock and with an arrow pointing down (if i remember correctly). Just slide the button the opposite way and your good to go.

SOURCE: memory card locked

There is a switch on the SD memory card, slide the switch to unlock position before you insert the card into your camera.

Card locked

There is a very small lock switch on the side of your memory card, this will be set to locked at the moment this prevents any changes on the card. If you flick the swithc to unlock it you should have no issues from there.

Memory card locked

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". The most common cause is having the tiny slide switch on the side of the card in the wrong position. The second most common is trying to use a 4GB or higher SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. There are also other common causes if the above didn't help, with troubleshooting steps for this problem listed here.

Screen says card locked and dosn't appear to be taking pictures on auto

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". The most common is trying to use a 4GB or higher SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. Other causes include problems with the tiny slide switch on the side of the card, or the electrical contact switch internal to the camera. The problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has never been formatted in the camera (note that this will also erase the card). Troubleshooting tips for this problem may be found at this link.

CARD LOCKED appears oo screen, camera wont work?

Does this camera take a memory card, separate from the built-in memory of the camera? If so, remove that memory card and look closely at all sides and edges, to make sure that there is not a read-only protection switch on it.
Many of these memory cards have tiny switches, sliders back and forth, that protect the memory from being erased.
If you slid that switch into the locked position without being aware that it is there, and without knowing that you did, then the error message makes sense.
Remove the memory card and look at it very carefully.

Locked memory card

There is a tiny switch located on the side of the memory card, might even say lock on it or beside it. Just flick the switch opposite of the way it is now and it should work fine after that. There might even be a small arrow showing which way to switch it. The reason for the lock button is "just" for this, so you don't accidentally erase some wanted pictures or someone else.
