Blurry / runny picture

I have had my canon powershot A85 for apprx 2 years and about 1 month ago it started taking runny, blurry, pink looking pictures on and off. Now it does it all the time no matter what setting I have it on. I haven't dropped it. What could this be?

I've had my PowerShot A85 for about 3 years and it made excellent
pictures all the time. Suddenly I got the same problem as

I have a Canon Powershot A85 for about three years. One month ago it started taking blurry pictures with a lot of white horizontzl lines. I read the manual and tried everything I could, but it does not help. Finally, I call Canon consumer support. Surprisingly, Canon wanted me to send the camera back and will fix it for free, including shippings. I hope I will get it back in two weeks. April 6, 2008.

    Charge Coupled Device

It is the sensor that captures the image.
As these camera are integrated devices - that is the whole thing is machine made in a block
    [Like a Timex watch]
There is no 'Human' intervention possible to rectify it.
What Canon will do is simply change the camera for another or make a large discount available for your selection on a new camera
Which they will do depend on the model and other matters
    Contact Canon Customer support

Digital Zoom not working and screen is blurry

Your zoom probably does not come out all the way and therefore you get some blurry shots. Had the same problem on a Panasonic camera. Solution: replace zoom motor and gears. Results=expensive. Goes beyond the value of the camera. You might want to buy another used A85 or newer digital camera.

Player, could you be more specific on the symptoms. Does the image also look blurry on the LCD. Any weird colors? And please reconfirm that you have a Canon SD200 (SD Card) and not an S200 (Compact Flash Card).
