I have taken all the screws out of the camera and the case wants to separate except the the diopter knob seems to be holding it on one end. I tried to gently pry the knob off but was afraid I would damage it if I forced it. I know there is a trick to releasing the knob but I'm stumped.
Help!

Try thick aluminium foil to around the thread of the tripod pack out the socket

if you go to the olympusamerica.com/store you will see the telephoto lens but you will need the cla-10 adapter to use it with your camera
although you do get more telephoto with it... you can turn the digital zoom on in the camera and go to 90+ times zoom

On page 31 of your user manual describes how to enable the microphone on so you can have sound during movie clips.

I'm at the same place , trying to get the case apart. I do not see more screws to remove , and as you say the diopter knob may be the problem , but it seems to move witn the back case , I stumped...
just got it apart , the dip-nob will come off if you remove the small tape/cover on the end of the knob , remove the screw , remove the knob , pull apart , I have a lcd screen if needed
