Indesit D41 dishwasher problem

Hi, My dishwasher seems to start ok i.e. resets, drains water and then sounds like water is being pumped in. It then stops on no 2 - the scrubbing bush and does nothing. When I open the dishwasher there is no water inside. I've checked the water inlet pipes - all seems fine. Can anyone help? Donna

Please explain how to check the valve?

  • obiw1 May 03, 2009

    Hi,

We have the same problem and we've had everything checked. All the valves and wiring seem fine, but still it gets stuck. Would it be anything to do with the pcb? Does anyone know how much they cost and where they can be bought from?

You need to check the inlet walve . when you start the unit you say it drains. so after the drain do you hear the water entering the dishwasher? If you hear a sound like a buzzing noise that would be the inlet valve working. if thats the case there is a clog at the screen in the valve not allowing the water or enough water in the tub. seeing that this is a portable unit you will also want to check to make sure the fill hose is not kinked up anywhere in the cabinet or under neath the dishwasher. If you hear no buzzing noise you need to check the inlet valve with a meter to first make sure your getting power to it and that the valve itself if good. check these things out and let me know what you found and we can go from there

You have a component down to earth. The problem isn't the start button. Most likely to be the element, but ciuld be wash or drain pump. Check the element with a resistance meter first, when you find the componant at fault, replace it

Will not start cycles

is it doing the initial pump out then filling with water and stopping b4 the wash cycle? if so it may be that the wash motor has failed(you may hear a buzzing) or the pcb is faulty. if the water does not fill into the base there may be a valve fault of a supply fault. any engineer worth his salt should be able to diagnose this fault on first visit and return with a part so dont expect multi visits.

Indesit D41 dishwasher, switch it on to program,

if applaince does not start draining then there is a possible fault with the door locking assembly, and the appliance thinks the door is open and this will not allow the appliance to start

Indesit dishwasher.

It sounds like the anti flood switch is activated, lean the dishwasher back at a 45 degree angle. If water comes out the back you have a leak. Stand it up and try it try dishwasher, if it works this comfirms leak, you will need to find where it is coming from.
