Frigidaire top load washer won't rinse

My Frigidaire top load washer operates normally until near the end of the wash cycle. The water drains normally then the washer spins. At the point where it is supposed to start the rinse cycle... it stops and does nothing else. I have tryed to manually advance the control knob a few clicks to the middle of the rinse cycle, but it still does nothing. If I manually advance the control knob past the rinse cycle to the last spin cycle, it starts working again. So the problem is with the rinse cycle. I hope you have a few ideas. Thanks for your help.

This can be two issues. One could be the control knob. there could be a malfunction here. secondly, you may have a faulty water valve assembly. the relay or solenoid may need to be replaced. i would start with the control knob.

Washer won't spin after rinse cycle

Hello Dorothy - Does the drain pump make a humming noise? If so, there may be a restriction in the drain line or siphoning. Otherwise since it is such a complex unit I would recommend contacting a professional to have either the pump or timer diagnose.

Hello there:
If your cycle does not complete or The cycle doesn't advance
When the cycle should advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem: It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. than check the cold water supply line and the filter

Either the wire going to motor for non working speed is loose or damaged, or motor is bad. It could also possibly be timer not sending power to motor for that speed.

Rinse water fills the washing machine when the spin cycle starts

Check your outlet filter, most likely it is blocked, preventing the water from draining out. Chk your pump too. Before this disconnect from the wall socket; and also check the pipe coming from the tub to the filter. Siphon out the excess water from inside the machine before you open the pipes.
