Hello Dorothy - Does the drain pump make a humming noise? If so, there may be a restriction in the drain line or siphoning. Otherwise since it is such a complex unit I would recommend contacting a professional to have either the pump or timer diagnose.

It appears that a part of your question is cut off so i may be off base here but what i am reading is that your washer will go through the wash cycle and drain the wash water then just quit?? is that what is happeningIf yes that is whats going on i think what is happening is that after the wash cycle it fills with only COLD WATER for the rinse cycle and its not filling with the rinse water and just sits their until the rinse cycle water is filled and if its not getting cold water into the washer its not going to do anything If it is filling with cold water my apologies my bad for misinterpreting what the question reads and i ask ya to re-ask it.

If your cycle does not complete or The cycle doesn't advance When the cycle should advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem: It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. than check the cold water supply line and the filter

Either the wire going to motor for non working speed is loose or damaged, or motor is bad. It could also possibly be timer not sending power to motor for that speed.

no cold water ,,lid switch or defective

My Frigidaire front loader washer model LTF2140E doesnt want to drain the water when set to wash (heavy-normal-quick selectors). It washes put thats it. I have to switch the selector to drain/spin then rinse/spin cycle to finish the load. I checked the drain hose for any clogs....everything is clear. Any suggestions? Also,iIs their any reset buttons for this type of washer?

Check your outlet filter, most likely it is blocked, preventing the water from draining out. Chk your pump too. Before this disconnect from the wall socket; and also check the pipe coming from the tub to the filter. Siphon out the excess water from inside the machine before you open the pipes.
