Give you some suggestion, hope can be helpful for you.
Here is some basic principles for troubleshooting generator faults:
1. Check outside of generator firstly then inside
In the case of generator failure, the possible fault locations outside the electronic control system should be checked firstly. This can avoid a fault that is not related to the electronic control system, but make complex, time-consuming and laborious checking on the sensors, computers, actuators and circuits of the system. The real fault may be easier to find but can not be found.
2. Code priority
Electronic control system generally has fault self-diagnosis function. When some fault occurs in the electronic control system, the fault self-diagnosis system will immediately monitor the fault, and alarm or prompt the operator through warning lights such as "monitoring engine". At the same time, the fault information is stored in code. For some faults, the fault code should be read according to the method provided by the manufacturer before the fault self-diagnosis system is checked, and the fault location indicated by the code should be checked and eliminated. After the failure code refers to the elimination of the fault, if the engine failure phenomenon has not been eliminated, or no fault code output is started, then the possible fault location of the engine is checked.

CUMMINS GENERATOR SHOWING FAULT CODE 1434 REMOTE EMERGENCY SWITCH WHAT COULD BE THE POSSIBLE CAUSE

You should turn off the remote emergency switch. Then check the reasons, but this is based on that you can not turn off the switch.
Electromagnetic valve for generator set shutdown is out of control.
Speed regulator of diesel engine has fault.
Operational errors may be that the control panel first breaks the key switch and then presses the stop button.
There are many reasons besides above reasons, you should check clearly and remove faults one by one, then will know what is the resaon.
We also supply Cummins diesel generator, if you need to have a new generator, please conatc us: [email protected].

What does it mean when check engine light is flashing

It means there is a fault or multiple faults with the operation of the engine.
There can be many different causes/problems for the CE light to be triggered. It could be just one very minor issue such as failed oxygen sensor or or dirty mass air flow sensor in the air intake or something much more significant. You will not know until the appropriate scanner is hooked up to the car and the fault codes are identified. Quite possibly there will be multiple fault codes generated. The various fault codes indicate the type of fault the computer has identified but the cause or causes then need to be properly diagnosed before you can make any repairs or replace parts. Until the cause is identified and the fault fixed the CE light will continue to display.

You need to get the car to the dealership service center or to a competent mechanic with the correct scanning equipment for your car to identify the faults and the begin the diagnosis from there. Hopefully it will turn out to be something fairly minor and easily fixed.
All independent mechanics will have various scanning equipment but beware as they will not all necessarily be able to pick up all the fault codes being generated on your particular car and fix the fault or faults. (They may pick up one or 2, diagnose the fix for those , do the repair , think all is right and you still have the CE light displaying because there was another code being generated that their scanner did not read.). There can also be some fault codes generated for specific vehicles that are not generic to most cars but specific to a particular brand/model and the independents will not necessarily know what these codes mean unless they specialise in your vehicle model.

Don't delay having the vehicle checked and if in doubt take the car to the dealership service center for your car brand as they will have the latest scanning equipment to cover your model and will pick up all the fault codes being generated.

Ihave a fault code P0620

P0620 - Generator Control Circuit Malfunctionxicon.jpghttp://engine-codes.com/p0620.htmlForum CodePossible causes- Failed Generator/Belt
- Battery charge
- PCM controlled generator
- PCM failure
- Open or short generator circuit When is the code detected? The PCM has fault detection circuitry which monitors the state of the generator turn on signal circuit. If the fault detection circuit senses a voltage other than what is expected, this DTC will set. The voltage regulator also contains fault detection circuitry. If the regulator detects a problem, the regulator will ground the generator turn on signal circuit, pulling the voltage low. This also causes the PCM to set the DTC.

I have a locked rotor fault message.

I had this fault show this morning. Very alarming, as we have a typhoon coming theough tomorrow!

Turned out to be an easy fix. When I hit start the solenoid engaged but nothing moved. Then I saw the fault message and thought "Large $$$$!"

It was just a bad 12 Volt battery, and when it couldn't crank it threw the fault code. I replaced the battery, pulled the 3 fuses on the control panel (mine is the 20 Kw model), and the codes cleared, and she fired right up.

The advice here and on a couple other sites about powering down the panel to clear fault codes saved me a lot of time, money and aggravaion, not to mention a freezer full of food (knowing the Guam Power Authority, and knowing typhoons, the power WILL go down tomorrow.

I have a 2002 yukon xlt, today the battery light started coming on intermitantly and the battery started losing voltage, I pulled the alternator and had it tested at 2 different auto parts stores , both...

Is there B+ voltage on the heavy gage wire on the back of the alternator ? Possible blown fusible link. Plus the two wires in the connector go to the PCM - engine computer . One is the turn on signal ,the other is charge indicator control . Having the vehicle checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes should also be done .DTC P1637
The powertrain control module (PCM) uses the generator turn on signal circuit to control the generator. A high side driver within the PCM allows the PCM to turn the generator ON and OFF. When Generator operation is desired, the PCM sends a 10 volt signal to the voltage regulator via the generator turn on signal circuit. This causes the voltage regulator to begin controlling the generator field circuit. Once the Generator is enabled by the PCM, the voltage regulator controls generator output independently of the PCM. Under certain operating conditions, the PCM can turn Off the generator by turning Off the 10 volt signal on the generator turn on signal circuit.
Your best bet mite be to take it to a qualified repair shop.
