I have a 52 inch RCA Home Theatre. It is green and yellow, and can not be adjusted. It is 14 yrs old, and has been a great tv, until now. The picture is fuzzy and distorted and the convergence doesnt help. Seems like maybe the blue bulb in the back isnt working? How much are the large bulbs, and where can I get one?

If it is truly a 52 inch standard projection set (you have it listed under 32V420T which is not a projection TV) and your 3 colors (red, green and blue) are no longer lining up and are all curved on the sides, then it means that your convergence power supply has stopped working. Post the actual model and chassis number and a better description of the picture here and I will be able to assist you further.

I have a 52" RCA that is about 4-5 years old. I bought it new and after we moved the picture fades into a greenish color then goes black. Where can I get tubes for it and where are they located?

Colors dont line up cheap fix pull the back lower pannel off on the board to your right you will see three brown fuses these are the caps pull the middle cap off place some tin foil inside the cap do not shove it all the way to the bottom and put the cap on. Your problem is fixed you should replace the fuse but this will get your tv working. should take you 5 minutes

# 1 above you have covergence problems ,there is a service flash from rca to fix your fault, ask your tv shop. fault # 2 above turn off the color and adjust your screen settings for a grey picture, set brightness and contrast to middle settings. # 3 fault read #1 cause if your auto focus will not correct you require service there is a harness connector that looses connection and causes several fualts on the 52" rca's you can repair the fault but if you miss the harness replacement you will do it again.

Hi, I am having trouble hooking up my new LG home theatre system with my Rogers cable. I connected the home theatre system to the TV with an HDMI cable. The sound works with watching DVDs on TV and...

To listen to Tv program sound through your home theater system you will have to connect a pair of RCA to RCA cables (Red and White pair ) from the audio out socket of the TV ( some times three sockets Yellow/Red/White labeled Monitor out. Ignore the yellow as it is video out ) to the Aux or CBL/Sat input of the LG system. Then to listen to the sound through your LG HT system switch the Input selector of the LG to Aux or CBL/SAT. Will work for sure.

Philips dvd home theather,i didn't get a users manual,i can't get the sound to come out with the tv,it will owrk with the radio. lloyd

I will guide you through it.

Just to clarify, When you say sound out with the tv, which are you referring to:
1. DVD built into to the theatre
2. Pay TV
3. Analogue TV ( or digital TV with inbuilt set top box)
4.Digital TV with a separate set top box
Please indicate which one.

TV: ther should be several set of three RCA Sockets on the back of the tv. Look for the red, whit and yellow Phono sockets. do you have these colours and are any of them labelled TV Out or output?

Philips System: Look for an analogue in, Aux IN, or any other unused RCA (Phono) Sockets ( They MUST be red or white!)
Take a set of red and white RCA leads plug them into the OUT set on the TV, and The "INput" set on the Home theatre, select that input on the theatre and your off and racing!
Please clarify first though!

I am trying to connect an akai dvd player to directv, please help

ruettab,

good day. to connect your any DVD player to any TV screen always remember this color code

from DVD back part:

yellow = video out

red/blue/green( in a row) = component video out ( this can only be used for screen with component video inputs)

Black = digital audio ( rarely use unless)
Red and white (in a row) = Audio output (left and right audio)

where to connect from TV screen.

Locate where A/V INPUTS (audio/video socket) from your TV screen, you can see it either at the BACK/SIDE or somtimes in FRONT of TV screen , having marked as "AV1"AV2"AV3' .

Once you found TV input, you must first have RCA cable (color code cable to connect player to screen) then connect the RCA cable at the back of your DVD player, simply follow color code

RCA yellow marked cable = DVD yellow socket
RCA RED and WHITE marked cable = DVD RED and white socket (second row for your player)

then connect the other end of the RCA cable to TV screen, first select which input where you gonna place the DVD player ( either AV1, Av2 or Av3 if do have multiple inputs)

once decided which INPUT to connect the player.
ex. if you select AV1 as input there would be 3socket on its row (yellow/red/white)

now connect the other end of RCA cable to the screen by following the same color code:

RCA yellow cable = TV screen A/V1 input yellow socket
RCA RED and White = TV screen A/V1 input red and white socket.

cheers,
mark

DVD won't play movies in color

RCA cable connectors (red, white, yellow) are usually for an analog setup. You could still use these for "component" setup, but know the difference with color stamps as follows:

Component color stamps are "blue, green, red" ( blue is marked Pb, green is marked Y, red is marked Pr)

RCA color stamps your using are "red, white, yellow"

Here are the proper hook up method for "Component" using your "RCA" connectors:

On both the TV and DVD component setup:

Plug the red RCA fitting in the component port marked "Pr (red)

Plug the white RCA fitting in the component port marked "Pb (blue)

Plug the yellow RCA fitting in the component port marked "Y (green)

Be sure this setup is the same for the TV's component input ports, and the DVD's component output ports.

i-Note:

For optimum picture quality you may want to purchase component cables as the gage is thicker giving better impedance match resulting in better picture and sound quality.
