Cannot print with wirelessly networked printer

Cannot print with vista (toshiba) laptop and hp wireless printer. Printer shows as ready, is favorite on this laptop, print goes to print queue, but never prints. Will occasionally print if I restart computer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled software 3 times including using ethernet cable once and still problem persists. This network works fine with 2 other computers, both with XP installed.

my printer is set up correctly but does not print

Hi there, I have exactly the same problem, I've uninstalled and re-installed the software a few times. When i reboot upon rebooting it will kick off whatever was stuck in the spool. The PC see's the printer on the network but it simply won't print. Firewall is completely disabled and no difference. Have just reset the printer to factory settings too, no difference. If I boot the PC with printer already turned on I can print and use printer features for a period and then it goes back to this condition.

I have had the same problem since I switched to Vista. I even tried connecting directly to my computer with a USB but the printing still hangs on a regular basis. Sometimes even rebooting doesn't clear it; I have to go into Services and stop the print spooler and restart. I also cannot print multiple copies of a document from any application - I can tell it to print 5 or 6 or 30 and it only prints one. It also won't print graphics in Word/Office 2007. I think there is an incompatibility with Vista.

I have the same problem. I have been able to print before with this computer, but for some reason I can't now. The printer is Ready, when I print I get an error message.

Hi,

if printing from 2 other computer works fine, will i think its not an issue of IP address which changes somehow. but anyways, try to check if you still have other printer drivers under "PRINTERS" (see control panel). it should say HP Photosmart c6100 series. If you also have there a printer icon that says HP Photosmart c6100 series Copy1, try using it (right click on that icon and choose Set as Default Printer). If you only have HP Photosmart c6100 series under PRINTERS, try to right click, then choose properties. When Properties box is open, click on PORTS tab. then click on configure ports below. Try to type in the IP address of the printer under "Printer Name or Host name or IP address". make sure that you already printed network configuration page to get the exact ip address of the printer, Dont know how to print? do this.

PRINTING NETWORK CONFIGURATION PAGE
1. press setup, then scroll down and look for Network.
2. press okay on network, it will give you the first option "VIew network settings".
3. press okay on it, and it will give you the first option "Print network configuration page."
4. choose that and press okay. it will print the network config page. from this document, you will be able to see the IP address of the printer.

Please let me know if the issue is still not resolve so that i can go ahead and give you another possible solution.

Thank you so much.

Open the printer view from "Printers & Faxes", can be found on your "Start Menu" or "Control Panel". When that view is open, where you see your print job listed; if the "status" column is empty, click the "file" menu, you will probably find a check mark next to the "work offline". If that is the case, click it once to uncheck it. Then, either reissue the print job or highlight it in the quoue list, right click and select restart.

Print a network configuration page and note down the IP address of the printer. Open the printers folder and check for the printer icon with a check mark on it and reads ready status. Right click on the printer icon and select properties. Select ports tab and click on configure port and enter the same IP address and try to print which would resolve the issue.

Do you have a firewall installed? Try disabling the firewall while you print. I've seen software firewalls not allow you to print wirelessly before.

How to set up wireless printing with disc

Here are the minimum details needed to answer this kind of question:

1. Operating System :
Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Vista?
2. Printer make/model:
(this is important to determine the wireless properties of printer)
3. Network Connection:
(is the laptop connected to the same network as the printer)

If you are working with a new printer (see item 2) and you have a network on which you have your notebook connected, there are so many possible ways to connect the printer to the network that it's hard to say.

If you are working with an established printer that has wireless services running, you may need to know either the Network Name of the printer or the IP Address of the printer.

Your best bet is to make use of hp's extensive Wireless Printing Center (see link below).

I have HP Officejet 6500 connected via USB to office desktop. I also need print from vista laptops on the same wireless network as the desktop. How do you do it ?

Hi, I just completed this same query this week.

to set up my remote network i followed promts from windows and then had to run my windows xp startup disc on my vista laptop.

After that was complete i had to install the hp printer setup cd onto my vista laptop and connect the hp printer to my router using the ethernet cable. I followed the prompts on the vista as the cd continued to install. then at the end of it all it showed i had correctly installed the printer via wireless and asked me to do a practice print which i did and all seems fine.

I can now print from my vista laptop and my windows xp desktop. I hope this helps

Please what is the steps for correcting my wireless printing, my vista/laptop cannot see my printer to print wirelessly any more I have an hp 6310 all in one. There is another computer in the house that...

To be able to set up wireless printer configuration, there are three basic items that you need to have. They are a high-speed broadband Internet connection (with modem), a high speed wireless router and wireless network adaptors. These three items will be used in setting up the wireless printer. Assuming that there is already an existing network in the home or office space, then all that is needed to do to make the printer available in the network through the operating system’s networking wizard. If not, then the network must first be established, only then the printer will be made available through that network. get more information and help for Wireless Printer Configuration .

Installing Vista A135 laptop in XP wireless network

I have had a lot of problems with HP printers and Vista on our network, but this seems to fix it more times than not.
