We had the same problem. A "sub-zero certified" technician came, said we needed a new compressor. We are still under factor warranty for parts, but we paid for labor, etc. Anyway, about $1,000 later, we had a new compressor installed, a "leak" identified, and the "vacuum condenrser" off. Now (three months later) we have the exact same problem and the fridge won't go below 41 degrees. We're reluctant to "invest" another $1,000 on this, and are thinking about switching to a more "ordinary" but also more reliable model... any advise? We had the same problem. I had the same problem with my sub zero 650. I had to turn off the fuse power since the on off just wasn't enough. However, I too had to get a new condensor. You have to vacuum the condensor but I was doing that & it was all clean. I will NEVER get another subzero. The suction on the door doesn't work, the ice maker won't go on & off auto. anymore. My son cut his arm on the sharp edging and just missed his main artery & all sub zero did was come & "file the edge down". I've had too many services on it and now sometimes it runs loud. The suction thing is the worst, they said "to wipe it down" but that's not the problem, it just doesn't suction closed. I liked my GE Profile much better and never had issues with it.

I too have the vacuum light and a warm freezer. Repair came last week and said there was a blockage in the line, which they cleared. Next day light was back and unit warm. Now service says I need a new condenser and compressor. the parts are covered but labor($500.00) isn't. Is this unit worth it? It is 8 yrs. old and was a replacement under warranty for a 5 yr. old 550 from sub-zero.I too have the vacuum light and a warm freezer. The desplay is flashing " vacuum condenser " although the unit seems to be working fine. I have vacuumed it a number of times but the light still flashes. The refrigerator is maintaining 34 degrees; the freezer 5 below zero. The desplay is flashing " vacuum condenser " although the unit seems to be working fine. the leading thing causing that is a dusty condenser coil. to clean that remove the grill above the refrig, and the white painted plate behind that and vacuum the coil on right side ,typically the grill is held on by springs and a either 1 screw in the center or 2 screws on the corners of the rim above the door, remove grill by opening refrig. door and remove screw tilt grill down and disattact springs
Clean the coils, usually at the bottom of the unit, remove the cover and use a vacuum and a bottle brush and clean away, use a crevice tool on the vac. hose but do not force it between the coils.
Is it flashing vacuum condenser? Ice behind the crisper drawer shouldn't effect the temp. What is it set at? You can go to www.subzerospecialists.com and click on Tech Help for additional info.
unit is running 6 cycles without a defost time...you may have a leak in the evapator have a subzero tech check it if 12yr or younger parts are under WTY
The vacuum condenser indicator keeps flashing on and off. I did vacuum the unit, the the indicator lights keeps flashing on and off. How can I reset it and keep it off?
Thanks,
Rob
this means your condensor on the back of the unit that pumps the freon needs to be vacuumed. It may be dusty or not getting air flow to cool it off. Also vacuum all your coils on back of unit
Look on your sub zero for more model numbers. I have found some information indicating that the refrigerator thermostat may be the problem but need those numbers to confirm. Thanks, Sea Breeze
