SOURCE: monitor goes black
Sorry to have to tell you this, but this is common in LCD monitors. The reason that it is going black when it boots is for one of two reasons. You either have a bad power supply that powers your LCD or your LCD's backlight is blown. These can be repaired or you can purchase a new one. But if it goes black 9 times out of 10 is because the backlight is bad. These can be repaired!

I had one with the same problem. All the capacitors in the power supply were fried. If you're good with electronics, you can pull it apart and replace them (about 8 bucks in parts) or take it to someone who is.

The interface between the monitor and the cable might need replacement. Please check it.
SOURCE: why do I get a "No Signal" on my Acer x193w monitor?
sounds like a video card issue. Check the screen on another computer. If it is doing the same thing, it is the monitor. If it doesn't, then you have a video card issue
SOURCE: Acer X223W monito won;t wake up after sleep.
I have a dual monitor system, both are the x223w. Same problem but only on the second monitor. Backlight shuts off.On/off light stays blue. I have to turn off the monitor and turn it back on. I returned it and Acer could not find any problem so I got it back. No problem for awhile and now a few times over the past couple days. Not good...
