I have a Milwaukee cordless drill/ driver cat#2801-20 will not work but the flash light will work

The battery is not fully Charged. Please charge for 4 to 5 hours.
The flash light works because it requires lower voltage than drill/driver to work.

Dewalt charger flashing red light

Here is the manual for the charger - note on page 2 the meaning of the problem you describe - time to replace batteries (depends how old they are)

That being said, check the videos out, perhaps can get it to work after all for a while longer.

Batterys dont charge

Very rarely will you come across 2 bad batteries in a kit. If you have 2 batteries that will not take a charge and they are from the same kit. The common denomiater would be the charger. I would look into that. when some chargers fail the lights still work but the charger does not actually charge. If posible double check the same batteries with a different charger.

I have a Nextec 12V cordless drill, when i press the trigger, the light flashes, but, the drill does not work. i have tried different batteries and have changed the settings and switches and it still...

At first it does sound like the batteries.

How old is the drill? If it's old, then the batteries may either be dead, or need a careful, slow charge overnight to charge them properly. If new, then they may also need a really nice slow charge.

Sorry to ask, but have you fully charged all the batteries you have tried? !!! Many rechargeables lose a great portion of their charge if they sit for a long time.

Also, when using the drill, never use it until it runs the battery down so far stops, as this can damage batteries or discharge them to where again you need to very carefully charge them to get full charge back again.

Have you overloaded the drill:any plastic smells or have you drilled too hard and stalled it for a long time? That could cause motor damage. But look to the batteries first.

My husband has a Kawasaki drill. he has charged the 2 batteries and neither of them works . he has had it for 1 1/2 years and never had trouble till a few days ago.we have been using it but didn't charge...

check voltage on batterys with volt meter if the batterys are weak try recharging. try them in flashlight or other peice of equipment.. try moving forward reverse switch while pressing trigger and maybe clean battery contacts with eraser.

My new drill suddenly stopped working even though the battery has been charged OK.

Is it Nano li-ion? have you got another spare battery to double- check?
I experienced the same problem with 18V Dewalt nano li-ion battery. Was fully charged, came to work- Dead!!! I was lucky I had spare one, so then i was ok, but anyways had to buy a new one. Check on these things:
1. Battery is faulty. If u have any chances to ask someone who has the same gun (voltage is very important!!! has to be the same!!!- 12V battery to 12V gun, 14.4 to 14.4, 18 to 18 etc). Put your battery into that other gun. If You find the same problem that means your battery is dead.
2.Gun with battery contacts. If you 100% sure, that batterIES (check 2 batteries, or more) are OK, check bottom contacts where u put battery in, use WD40, or similar to clean them.
3. Least common Dewalt thing (Most common in Panasonic drills) is trigger contacts.
Basically i do not know what model is your dewalt, i was only talking in general, but there are no miracles- stopped working suddenly, and what u describe new, for instance my new drill dw727kd is less than 1 year old, i was too stuppid to open that battery myself to void warranty :(
AAAAHHH!!!!!! One more thing - If you have not tried to open these screws- check your nearest Dewalt authorised repair center- new NANO batteries have 2year warranty!

Hi, my drill has just stopped working i have changed the battery but it seems dead ?? the drill is about 3 years old but has only been used a hand full of times as it a personal home diy tool ?????

When you put the battery in the charger, does the light go on? The charger has lights to indicate whether the battery is fully charged or not. If it is dead when you put it in the charger and remains that way after one hour, you can be pretty sure that the battery is dead. If there are NO lights on the charger, plug it into a different outlet and recheck. Not using the drill for long periods of time is really not good for the battery. The drill is probably ok, but the charger or battery could be the problem.

My makita 18v 2.0 battery won't keep a charge

How old is the battery?
They have a service life and require replacing after they no longer hold a charge. This could be 2 years or 8 years depending on how often it is used and how regularly it is charged etc.

If it is a new battery, then take it back as it could be defective.

Possibly could also be the charger but you could verify that by charging a different battery and seeing if it charges that second battery ok, or not.
