Igniters won't turn on & unwanted flammes
You say you have no sparks coming from your gas range, but your rear burner is lighting. That doesn't quite make sense. If some of your burners are lighting, then the problem can't be with the spark module. The spark module sends a spark to ALL the igniters at the same time. That is, EACH burner switch, when turned to ignite, will cause a spark to go to ALL the burner igniters at the same time. Just watch the next time you turn one of your burner switches on, and you'll see a spark at all the burners simultaneously. This is normal. I suspect that you have a bad igniter switch or wiring harness. For example, if you have a front burner that won't light, but WILL light when you turn on another burner, the spark is being provided by a working burner switch. This is also normal. Now, am I assuming that your back burner will not light properly, but will light if you use the front burner? If so, the burner switch for the rear burner is probably bad, or the wiring harness has a break somewhere. Now...if you have no sparks, as you say, but randomly a burner will light, then I would suspect a bad spark module. I hope I'm not confusing you here. In a nutshell:
One burner doesn't work, but all others do - bad burner switch, or wiring harness.
No burners light, or light randomly - spark module.
I hope this helps you.
thanks
