Maytag Neptune rotates but not in spin mode

see the causes:
t doesn't pump or spin
frozen puller or belt broken pump, lid switch defective
It pumps, but doesn't spin
lid switch defective+motor coupler defective+belt broken+clutch worn+drive motor faulty+transmision not shifting properly+basket worn.
It spins only with the lid closed
lid for security reason.

Won't work. It is buzzing, fills with water, but gives the signal "do", and eventually "FL". Are there any recalls on MAH5500BBW?

main belt needs replaced or tightened not going through the programs so electric/eletronic main power board thinks the machine ok ,but really it not reaching its next part of the program.adrian,,,

MAH5500BBW - Control panel does not seem to have any power. The circuit breaker and outlet have been checked and are functioning correctly. When the washer is loaded and the door is closed, no lights...

I had the exact same problem, so i pulled the control board out (very easy) and just bought a new one from ebay for $100.. hope it works.

Neptune MAH5500 Neptune has progressively gotten louder on spin. Very loud noise sound like bearing going. Continues to get worse. Can it be fixed or too expensive to justify?

Hi.

If you get a very loud noise coming from the machine, and this noise is louder when it spins faster, then it is often because of a problem with the drum bearing.

The drum bearing is bad, Check if the drum has excessive play.

To replace the part you take apart machine, undo the belt and depending on the model you may need to remove more parts.

To get a quote on repair call Maytag at the number listed on the owner manual, the machine may still be worth repairing.

Maytag neptune mah5500bbw wont spin going through cycle

My Maytag Neptune MAH5500B or MAH5500BWW wouldn't spin either. It would go all the way through the wash cycle, agitation and all, as mentioned before, the spin cycle would start at the 9 minute mark, and get down to the 7 minutes then drop directly to 0 with no spin at all.

After hours of investigation it turned out the balance load switch was corroded. This switch is accessible through the front panel of the washer. The door must be removed and the front panel comes off, this switch is directly under the wash drum where there is a little electrical plug and switch which rests on top of stabilizer styrofoam. The connection was being made but there was green corrosion, and evidently the switch box was corroded within. When bypassed, the washer spun perfectly.

Hope this helps someone else out there - I was horrified to think that this washer would end up more landfill as it wouldn't be worthwhile to pay hundreds for a new motor control board as had been suggested was the problem.
