HP Officejet Pro L7580 says I unplugged it, but I didn't!

My HP Officejet Pro L7580 says that I unplugged it instead of turning it off with the on/off button, but I didn't! Now, it keeps giving me the same error message.... turn off, then turn on. I do that, it resets (takes about 4 minutes) and then goes crazy with all these blinking lights and beeps. I was able to reset it twice by turning it off, unplugging it, rebooting my computer and then plugging it back in and turning it back on. But now, even that won't work. Please Help!

HP Officejet Pro L7580 says I unplugged it, but I didn't. I've shut it down and even unplugged it when it was off butI get the same error message every time

I have the same problem and HP support wasn't much help with the exception on trying to sell me a reconditioned printer at a reduced cost.

Any other advice will be helpful. I am going to unload the software and reload it and see if that takes care of it. Wish me luck!

It sounds like the printer is suffering from some kind of hardware failure which may have been caused by a power surge or similar.

I've never heard of this particular problem and I doubt HP will have either but my advice would be to contact HP support and see if they can provide more information or advise you better.

Unfortunately if my guess is right, there's really not a lot you can do except replace the printer with a new one.

My hp officejet pro L7580 is connected to DOT4 port, there's a hp officejet pro L7580fax connected to USB002. I want officejet pro L7580 connected to USB002, NOT the L7580fax. My desktop is not...

To walk you through I'd need to know the OS you are running, but the generic answer is that you need to go into the print driver, and in the Printer Properties, under the ports tab , select the USB002 port rather than the DOT4 port and Apply the changes.
