My LG DVD/VIDEO cassete recorder makes a loud whirling noise.

LG DVD RECORDER/VIDEO CASSETTE RECORDER model: RC199H. Mades a loud whirling noise when I load a dvd.

Assuming your dvd player supports your dvd+r format. You might need to make your dvd player multi-region or remove the region setting all together.

this website have unlock codes for dvd players

Those cheap made in china $35 dvd players have no region setting and will play virtually anything.

LG RC199H auto/manual tracking not working
Don’t make any adjustments on the inside. It should be auto tracking by itself. Auto track turns off when you make manual adjustments. Turn auto back on by pushing arrow up/down keys at the same time.

Hi I have a rc199h dvd video recorder and i no it's discontinued but i can't find my manual. I just dubbed a vcr tape to a dvd but how do i convert it to see on my tv or computer?
To read the disc on other machines, you need to finalize the DVD in the machine that you wrote to the disc. Press Home on the remote, and go to the Disc Settings menu. Select the second line (Finalize) and press the right arrow. With Finalize selected press Enter. Then select OK and press Enter. (Please note that you need to leave space on the disc for the finalization information to be stored.) Wait for the finalization to be completed.

If you do not have the original remote, you will need one that matches the Home button feature. An exact replacement remote is available here: http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Search&o=c&uid=0&m=RC199H&uuid=12978352098280 .

The manual for the LG RC199H is available at retrevo: http://www.retrevo.com/support/LG-RC199H-DVD-Players-manual/id/366ag209/t/2/ . You will need to answer a question to prove that you are actually using the computer.

Avi format files reading problem
I think its due to lack of supporting files. Normally there will be some files in the DVD other than the .Avi files. Try making a new DVD with a well known DVD making software like Nero or video editing softwares like Ulead,Adobe Premier etc.

Recording to DVD recorder
I know you can copy to the VCR. but do not know if digital recording has any form of copyright protection. You can try to copy by connecting the outputs of the DVD TV to the inputs of the DVD player recorder.
