Cannot open web pages even though connection is working.

When I open Internet Explorer it says that the web page cannot be displayed and Firefox just comes up with a blank screen and says done. I know the connection is good because I am hooked up to my other computer on the same one and it works fine (its ethernet through a modem). I have run all my virus scan programs, AVG, Spybot, Ad Aware etc. and found nothing. Also I went through the troubleshooting guide from the microsoft website, the only useful thing was that when I run the diagnostic tool it says to check my firewall settings but I don't even have a firewall up (I thought I had the windows one enabled but when I looked it wasn't, and it won't let me re-enable it). If you can help me it would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

I Want BING HAS MY HOME PAGE

The is done differently in different browsers. The three most common are Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome. I'll list the steps for each.

Internet Explorer:
  1. Make sure you've closed all open tabs, then open Internet Explorer for the desktop.

  2. Click Tools, and or click Internet options.

Under the General tab, enter the web address of your new home page, and then click Apply.

Firefox:

  1. Open the web site you want to set as your home page. If you want a blank home page, open a new tab.
  2. Click the icon to the left of the web address, drag it to the Home button, and release.
  3. Click Yes to set this as your home page.

Chrome:

  1. Click the Chrome menu snp_2696434_en_v1 on the browser toolbar.
  2. Select Settings.
    • Set your homepage
When the "Show Home button" checkbox is selected, a web address appears below it. If you want the Homepage button to open up a different webpage, click Change to enter a link.

Internet explorer can,t open my web page

First, check if you're able to open the webpages in other web browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Opera, etc.
If web pages are opening normally in other browsers then restore the Internet Explorer to default settings.

Restoring Internet Explorer7/8 to its default:

1. Start Internet Explorer.
2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
3. On the Advanced tab, click Reset.
4. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset to confirm.

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HL-2070N will not properly print

My guess is the problem is with Firefox trying to print the page and not the printer. Try to go to File > Print Preview and see if it looks normal there. If not, I have 3 suggestions:
  1. Try to change the "Page Options" or "Scale" under the Print Preview
  2. Try to install and use the Firefox Add-On "IE Tab". This gives you the choice to display the page with Internet Explorer, while still using Firefox. You can turn on IE Tab, and then try to print. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1419
  3. Upgrade to Firefox 3.
