LG WM2688HM front loader is leaking water around the door seal

Have cleaned the tub and door seal...still leaking slightly at the bottom of the door

The washer is just over one year old, so I wouldn't think it would be worn out yet. Looks fine, but I am not a repair person so I'm not sure. How would I know if it is coming from the soap dispenser?

This may be coming from the soap dispenser and running down round the door way and to the bottom- investigate that first. otherwise the seal may be worn/ damaged and needs replacing.

check for water marks running down from the water tray if not is there pet hairs/limescale on the door glass. thats the only reason for leaks from the door area.

My dishwasher is leaking from the bottom of the front door. I can't seem to get to the drain filter. Can that be removed? I think there may be a clog in it.

If the leak is from the bottom of the front door than it is most likely the door seal. If the leak is from beneath the unit and appearing to leak out from the front there are many sources for the water.

Check the seal around the door. It may have some residue that has collected prohibiting the seal. The water in the machine actually sits in a tub. The seal on the door prohibits the water leaking as the spray arm rotates.

To test the door seal start the cycle and stop the unit as soon as the machine begins the spray cycle. Open the door and observe that the tub is full but still below the edge. Dry the seal around the door. Place colored paper towels or cloth beneath the door as close to the door seal as possible, Continue with the cycle and observe for water leaks. Stop allow the unit to sit a few seconds open door and observe the seal. You are looking for the location that it is leaking.

If you can confirm that the seal is leaking you can purchase replacement seals, On some models they can be easily replaced.

In my experience I have not seen a filter in the return line. If there is a blocked return hose the unit would not leak. The tub would remain filled after the cycle. There is an overflow switch that prohibits the tub from overfilling if the tub has not emptied between cycles.

Leaking water from front of door. Replaced boot seal but still leaking. It looks like door is kicked out at the bottom. Would replacing the hinges help?

Try turning the water pressure down. If you have high water pressure the water comes into the dispenser to hard and splashes over the front & side of the dispenser draw the trickles down the inside of the front panel out on to the floor. Very common front loader problem.

LG WM2250CW has a drip underneath, front and center. Used, but new to us. Help!

Before doing anything else, check and see how dirty the glass window is along the inner edge where it contacts the gray seal. You will find that the very bottom of the glass is all gunked up with detergent , hair, lint, etc. Clean all around it using a scotcbite pad and water. These seals will leak if the glass is dirty.

I have water leak out of our front loader, it leaks out rite in the middle from the bottom of the door. I am not sure if it is from the small hole in the door or if it because of a bad seal. The rubber...

the wire ring just keeps the seal in place,, make sure the bottom of the door glass is clean,, if so look at the seal and see if it is pushed in alittle around the bottom,,you can take a hair dryer and heat it up while pulling it back out ,, ( just the lip part) if that doesnt work you will need to replace the whole gasket

Water leaking out of door , seems like it might be a problem with the door hinge ?

Not likely that you have a hinge problem, but it can happen, especially if water has been dribbling down the back side of the front panel from the dispenser area, getting on the hinge, and causing it to bind up. Replacing the hinge is a pain because the screws are put in with thread lock, requiring heating or even drilling in some cases. If you have water dripping down the front of the machine from the door, the most common reason is that there is some lint or hair on the bottom side of the glass door, preventing a complete seal to the gray rubber gasket. Generally, just cleaning off the bottom of the glass door will fix it. If that does not do it, you can try moving the spring clamp (which holds the front of the gray tub seal) from the bottom (6 O'clock position) to the hinge area (9 O'clock position) Sometimes, the leak is caused because someone pushed the washer into place by placing their hands just below the door and actually deformed the metal front panel inward, preventing a seal between the door glass and the gray tub seal. If that is the case, it may be corrected by removing the spring retaining clamp, taking the front of the gray tub seal off, pulling outward a bit on the metal panel at the bottom of the door openings, and replacing the seal and retaining band again.

LG front load washer -- water leaks out the bottom of the door -- if I push on the door while its running, the water slows/stops leaking...

First, clean off the bottom of the door glass where it contacts the gray tub gasket when the door closes. Any hair or other build up can result in leakage. Second, if that does not completely solve your leak, you can move the location of the spring which holds the tub gasket from the very bottom (6 O'clock position) to the hinge area (9 O'clock position). Third: Sometimes, the reason you get a leak is due to the installation. If the washer was pushed into place by applying pressure in the center front of the washer, the outer front panel can be slightly deformed (inwerd) resulting in leakage from the door. If that is the case, sometimes you can remove the outer clamp and outer part of the gray seal and pull out on the front panel to correct the situation if it is not too severe, rather than replacing the entire front panel.

Water leak from the front of the machine

Clean off the bottom of the door glass. If hair or lint builds up there, it dose not seal completely and a little water will run down the front of the machine. If that does not solve your problem, you can try moving the spring clamp (which holds the front of the tub seal)so the spring part is moved to the hinge area (a 80 degree move) instead of at the bottom of the door.
