Recently my wife hollered at me to figure out why she could not get the fabric softner to go into her washing machine. By looking a round a bit I figured out what the problem was and am going to pass the solution on with this tip. The solution is very simple and it will only take you a few minutes to clean up things so that they work like new again. Because of the stickiness of the fabric softners this will be something that you will want to do on a regular basis to keep your washer working well. Pull out the drawer and on the extreme top left of the drawer you will see a plastic tab that holds the drawer from coming all the way out. Push down on the tab and slide the drawer all the way out. You may have to bend down ad look up to see the plastic tab. You will want to take the drawer to a sink and give it good scrubbing. Wash everything out, take the covers off of the bleach compartment and the fabric softener compartment. Clean out the holes with a toothpick in the tube that the cover sets on. That is were the siphon action takes place that pulls the bleach and fabric softner out of the cup of the drawer. You also will want to wipe out behind the drawer while you have it apart. Replace the drawer and you are back in business!!
Can't help ya, as mine is doing the same thing. Not so much none of it, but there is always some left over in the f.s. compartment. I have tried adding water, but there is still some left over. It dries, and gets gummy. Every so often, I remove the drawer and clean it off.
Try a "good quality" name brand liquid softener. Some softeners out there are real thick and settle out to be paste. This problem was encountered by me and since I changed to a real liquid, it went away.
hi, nikoltheis! i'm not sure if we have exactly the same model, but it should be pretty close. here's what my user's manual says:
Detergent and fabric softner may build up in the dispenser drawer. Residue should be removed once or twice a month
- Remove the drawer by first sliding the safety latch to the right, then pulling the drawer out until it stops.
- Reach back into the left rear corner or the drawer cavity and press down firmly on the lock tab (left rear portion of the drawer). Pull out the drawer.
- Remove the insert from the bleach and fabric softner compartments.
- Rinse the drawer and inserts with hot tap water to remove traces of accumulated powders and liquids. Large amounts of fabric softner residue may indicate improper dilution or that more frequent cleaning is required.
- To clean the drawer opening (the empty area left behind when you remove the drawer) use a small brush to clean the recess. Remove all the residue from the upper and lower parts of the recess. (The picture shows this being done with a tooth brush.)
- Replace the insert pressing "X" to lock it in place. Return the dispenser drawer.
Pull the drawer out as far as it will come and then grasping it firmly, give it a good tug towards you, this will free the drawer to enable you to thoroughly clean every piece of it, particularly the conditioner parts of it.
Get a piece of wire with a bend on the end, and poke it in to all the holes in the top of the dispenser compartment, this will clera any blockages there.
Plz rate my solution, and feel free to leave any comment.
Thanks.
