Just replaced drive gear and worm gear in opener.
With or without door engaged in trolley, the trolley will only move about a foot downwards then reverse itself and move a foot back. Will not completly open or close. With cover off, it shows that the the trip wire on limit switch is not reaching either end, but just limiting travel to middle of range. Adjusting down or up limits nor force seems to affect anything. Thought it was due to no IF sensors being installed, but installed them at bottom of door and wired them in and makes no difference.
Whether from remote(s) or door button, the door will not go down (close). It moves from 4" - 12" then stops and starts clicking and blinking.

Same exact issue. Just repalced the worm and spur gear. Cycled the door a couple of times then adjusted the collor locking the belleville washers to the motor shaft because it sounded like the motor was straining. Now it cycles forward about 8" then returns to home. Opener is definitely not hitting the limits contacts. I suspect I fouled up the rpm sensor our the interruptor cup when I adjusted the locking collars.
Any thought? I'm going to remove the moor again and play with the ropm sensor and the locking collars and belleville washers to make sure everything is spinning freely.
I am experiencing the same exact issue - replaced the worm & sprocket, put it all back together and the unit works for about 8-10" and then returns and shuts off! I have tried every possible combination of adjustments on both the force & limit screws with absolutely no difference. Cost for service call is almost as much as new unit! HELP!!
Exact same thing. Tried resetting it with the door closed, and then again with the door open. It first goes down about 12" and then comes back up 12".
Im sorry I can't find your model number. Is this a chain drive for the carriage itself, or a worm drive?
Me too, same exact problem but my motor doesn't sound like it's straining, and I don't know how to tell what this is "With cover off, it shows that the the trip wire on limit switch is not reaching either end, but just limiting travel to middle of range"
