I was working at a kids camp and one of the kids accidently dropped my camera and the lens got messed up. I pushed it back in, but now it's jammed.

I assume it is a compact camera, these are really difficult to repair, when even possible, thus I suggest you contact the camera's Brand services to find a repair center near your area.

I was working at a kids camp and a little kid accidently dropped my camera and the lens got messed up. I pushed it back in, but now it's jammed. I really need a camera for this summer, but I can't...

Try turning it on/off and changing the focus from auto to manual. Perhaps with some fiddling it will get back into the proper place. Otherwise you could bring it to a Best Buy for the Geek Squad who could take a look at it, or bring it to wherever it was purchased. Any electronics store would look at it for you.

My 50 mm 1.4 won't focus on closer objects only far away now after my mom dropped my camera. What can be done? Is it most likely broken?

yes thats a fair bet,,, it could only be the lens that took the brunt of the smack it had and its now jamming when you try to focus up on close ups,,,
try a difrent 50mm lens on it and find out if im right

Digital camera dropped lens-opened on the beach and now the lense will not open properly

Hi

There is sand in your lens and it is jamming upthe gears. One grain of sand will cause the lens to fail! You can try to take the lens apart and clean out the sand but it's not easy and an opened lens usually never focuses exactly right again.

Look for a defective camera online that has a good lens but broken LCD or some other problem and fix that one using yours as parts or have yours fixed with a new lens.

We can do a new lens install for you for about $80-90 I believe. If we can help please let us know!

System Error

I had the same problem. It was because the lens had just begun to retract and then jammed. I tried pushing back it in to no avail. I was considering it was time for a new camara anyway. Hoping to get a little more life out of it, with nothing to lose I was about to take it apart to see if I could clean out any obstruction as other posts had reccommended. Before I did that, I let my Mr. Goodwrench cousin take a look at it. Instead of trying to force the lens back in, he pulled it out. Apparently the slight play in the lens allowed him to do so and whatever was jamming the lens from retracting must have fallen out. Suddenly, the lens retracted and the camara is working fine. So before you throw the camara away or take it apart, try pulling out on the lens housing. You may also have to move it slightly back and forth while pulling out to get whatever is jamming the lens to move out and away releasing the lens to retract again.

How can i fix a stuck lens on a Nikon COOLPIX L11?

It worked. I just gently nudgged the extended(stuck) lens to one side by hand. (the side which had the gap.) There was a click sound and the lense housing fell back in place. Sweitched off and switched on again and the lense started working fine. thanks.

Olymus, She said thet is was dropped, Gets power, seems like lense jammed

Hello Sammy, The lens assembly is a very delicate part of any camera. It contains small servo-motors and inductance coils along with the actual lens. Even service centers are having trouble managing to fix this and these problems lead in most of the cases in the replacing of the camera's lens assembly. I recomand you to go to a service center, present them the problem and then ask them for a cost estimate before they do something with it. I'm sorry this is not what you wanted to hear. Back some time in our history sultans killed the messangers who delivered bad news. :)
