Question about LG enV2 EnV-2 VX-9100 VX9100 Premium Pink Magenta Silicone Rubber Skin Case Cover

The keyguard on my lg env2 does not work.

Ok, so it works to a point. But I am constantly calling people when the phone is in my pocket. My firend Aaron is so pissed at me. The OK button on the front of the phone has the highest relief and therefore gets pushed all the time.

A friend of mine has the same phone and she has a to press OK and then CLR to unlock the phone. She obviously has no idea how she did this.

I know that I can manually set the security lock (requires 4 digit code to unlock), and I have it to engage automatically when the phone turns on, but this is only a band aide. Any words of advice?

There is a menu called Keyguard Settings like the one you described, but their is no submenu 2. Unlock Oprtions. My only option in the Keyguard Settings menu is change the length of time it takes for the phone to lock. My options are "Always Off", "7 seconds", "15 seconds", or "30 seconds". Thanks for trying though.

With the flip closed, press OK. #6 in the menu that pops up is Keyguard Settings. Select 6 and choose 2. Unlock Options. Then choose a 1 or 2-step unlock (OK versus OK and Clear)

If you get your phone upgraded, that gives you the power to have the two button unlock. By having to press the ok and clr to unlock my phone, it prevented the "pocket calls" from happening. Go to verizon and get the software upgrade. That will help you out!

Problems with my lg env2

Unfortunately the OK button and the bottom row of keys are a design flaw. Mine has stopped working from repeatedly being sat on. When you press the OK button in various directions, sometimes it will come back to life. The best thing I can suggest (if repair is not an option) is to mess with the OK button till it springs back to live, and then quick as you can press menu, keyguard settings, and turn that off, this will allow you to still use the front of your phone when the OK button goes out again (like I said, not permanent.)

Now, about that memory card. if you haven't formatted it for Verizon, you may want to do that. to do so go Settings>Memory(9)>Card Memory, hit the soft key for Options and format. Keep in mind if you have files on there that you do not have backed up they will be wiped clean. After its been formated, you need to take it out, put it back in, and restart the phone. You should have access to your card memory then. ^^

EnV2 shutting off when closed

I have the same problem, only randomly, even with two key lock on. I read on here where someone said he discovered that pressing on the battery real hard (as if in your pocket) shuts the phone down. I tried and it did. I cleaned the terminals (don't scratch them--use Q-tip DAMPENED in 91% alcohol, or rub with soft cloth--don't get white paper circle with xxx wet!). Afterward, I could no longer shutdown phone by pressing battery. Solved? Time will tell. You can also go back to Verizon and they will swap it for a certified used one within the first year.

Front keys will not work on my lg env2

Mine does the samething. Call customer support and let them know your phone is not working and you need a replacement. Mine is getting replaced. Mine started as just the "ok" button now it's moved to the 4-5-6 row. very frustrating.

Envy 2 dials phone numbers accidentally- need to set key guard

On the front keypad, press the ok button until you have the option to select contact list. Scroll down that list until you see keyguard settings. Press ok to enter keyguard settings and then go to option 2 - unlock options. Select two step unlock. This will force the user to press "ok" and then "clr" in order to dial out. This has resolved the problem for me...Good luck.

ENV2 Keyguard Lock problem

When your phone is closed, hit OK for the menu, then hit 6 for Keyguard Settings. There, you can not only change the time it takes for the keyguard to automatically go on, but ALSO change the keyguard unlock options from One Step Unlock (just hitting ok) to Two Step Unlock (hitting ok then clr). It's not a 4 digit code, but it's a lot better than just hitting ok, and much more time efficient than locking your phone every time you put it in your pocket.

if you just need to lock the phone temporarily just hold the pound button for about 3 seconds and it will turn on key guard without changing settings.

LG env2 Key guard

The options for the keyguard can only be accessed from the front screen. If you open up the enV and try to find the option it's not there, so on the front screen go into Settings & Tools, Keyguard.

EnV2 keyguard

I just called Verizon about the keyguard being too easy to unlock and they were clueless. But here's a solution: As above, using the OUTSIDE keypad, click OK, go down to keyguard settings (number 6), then hit unlock options (number 2). This gives you the option of using a one step unlock process (hitting the OK key) or a two step (hitting the OK then the Clear). I think it is still too easy to accidently answer the phone but at least this will cut down on the dialing.
