Maytag Neptune MAH4000:
At times the laundry is quite saturated with water at the end of the full cycle. The pump drains the water fine but when it comes time to spin dry I can hear it rotating the barrel but it never spins up to any speed. This is not because the load is off balance. I have heard what that sounds like and it's not the same. Today i sat by the machine and put it on the spin cycle. I tried both spin cycles (on both sides of the dial), tried it with the ''Max extract'' button both on and off. After about five times (letting the machine end the cycle without spinning) it spun with no problem. As I type this I can hear the next load spinning dry (like I said it's intermittent). Any help would be appreciated.

I am having the same problem, and have found that the door lock light is not on, and that the door lock does not seem to be working. This would keep the machine from spinning.
Is your door lock light on?

SOURCE: spin cycle won't drain and can't reach full spin neptune front
Water is draining but machine is not reaching it's full spon.
SOURCE: what will the Max Extract button do?
The max extract button will do an extra spin to get any & excess water out of the clothes. It is a good thing to keep on to help cut down on drying time. If you find standing water in the washer, it is possible the hose is NOT in the correct position.
