Final spin works intermittently

Maytag Neptune MAH4000:
At times the laundry is quite saturated with water at the end of the full cycle.  The pump drains the water fine but when it comes time to spin dry I can hear it rotating the barrel but it never spins up to any speed.  This is not because the load is off balance.  I have heard what that sounds like and it's not the same.  Today i sat by the machine and put it on the spin cycle.  I tried both spin cycles (on both sides of the dial), tried it with the ''Max extract'' button both on and off.  After about five times (letting the machine end the cycle without spinning) it spun with no problem.  As I type this I can hear the next load spinning dry (like I said it's intermittent).  Any help would be appreciated.

SOURCE: My Neptune does not extract

I am having the same problem, and have found that the door lock light is not on, and that the door lock does not seem to be working. This would keep the machine from spinning.
Is your door lock light on?

SOURCE: what will the Max Extract button do?

The max extract button will do an extra spin to get any & excess water out of the clothes. It is a good thing to keep on to help cut down on drying time. If you find standing water in the washer, it is possible the hose is NOT in the correct position.

Hello I have a Maytag Washer Model A512 The machine goes through a regular cycle OK - However, it DOES drains the water out during the rinse cycle, but does NOT drain the water out during the spin...

The timer will always advance to the next program if the machine does not fully drain. There is ALWAYS a spin when draining the water out, there is only one pump and one motor. The waterlogged laundry maybe telling the timer that there is still water in the tub. Put the machine on "Spin" and cheat the lid switch into thinking that the lid is closed. Use a clothes peg or wide ended screwdriver and see if there really is a spin....

Will not spin fast enough on final spin cycle to

ITS POSSABLE ITS NOT PUMPING FAST ENOUGH. CHECK THE DRAIN HOSE AND MAKE SURE IT HAS NO KINK. IF THATS OK IT MAY HAVE A BUILDUP OF SOAP. RUN A EMPTY CYCLE WITH NO SOAP. IF THAT DONT WORK YOU NEED A REPIARMAN TO CLEAN OR REPLACE THE PUMP.

Removed both water pump hoses, No blockages drum still has water init. Is this normal? Won't drain and go to final spin. Pump clean and spins free. Maytag Neptune MAH5500B

Water pressure switch adjustment or clogged. Check the small connecting hose to the switch body.

Final spin command signal generates from this part only.

Mah4000 won't go into spin cycle. drain pump is working, but no high speed spin.

Hi, this is MCU damage. This is called the Motor Control Unit. it manages the spin cycle in your unit. it is damaged at this time. replace it asap.

My Mother's Maytag Neptune front load washer has water left under the drum after the final spin cycle. I am not sure that this is normal. Please advise.

This is normal to hear water sloshing under the drum when machine is done washing and you spin the drum. This is part of their water balance method to help spinning procedure. I called a Maytag repair shop and they helped with my question.
