Hi guys, trying to program a new Bell ExpressVu remote control to my old Bell ExpressVu 3100 receiver and can't get it to work.
The synch directions state that i need to press the "sys info" button on my receiver (which the 3100 model does not have) and then press the "record" button on my new remote control. The "sys info" button is not present on this receiver.
Any help and/or suggestions please...thank you.

Here is how you fix it:

Found the user manual here

I had the same problem. The problem is strange and seems to be with the receiver in the TV and not the remote control. The reason I say this is that when this first happened my Samsung brand DVD could actually control the TV. This then also failed, but still works fine with the DVD player.
Anyway there is an even more bizarre fix to all this......
- Remove the batteries from your TV remote.
- Press and hold the red (ON/OFF) button for at least 1 min.
- Replace the batteries and hey presto!!
I know seems far fetched but I found it on the Samsung website and it does work.

there is the website, put in the name of the receiver as Samsung and make sure you are under "SATELLITE SET TOP BOX" and follow the instructions on programming. hope this helps!
SOURCE: LG DvD Reciever (LH-T550) issue (Xbox 360/ TV sound)
I dont know about a universal remote my friend but a remote is defo needed to ajust and alter sound settings , I have the same system and it can not be done with the reciever alone. The AUX button on the remote has to be activated to get sound thru LG speakers providing your game console is connected to your TV, then a set of audio cables from your TV via the (OUT) ports (this is a must) back into you LG reciever. Goodluck
If you are trying to use another manufactures remote to control your Onkyo receiver they are the ones who are responsible for programming the Hexadecimal codes into their remotes. We do not have codes for any other manufactures remotes. You may want to try the following website for codes www.remotes.com or http://www.remotecodelist.com for any codes to program your remote. As we do not have the remote controller codes for non-Onkyo controllers- you can try the generic remote controller code: 62503 or 52503.
