Dvr stuck on ''receiving satellite info'' when reset.

Accidentally unplugged DVR from AC outlet while it was on. When I plugged DVR back in, it went through the reset process. Got all the way through the ''searching for satellite signal'' phase to the ''receiving satellilte info'' phase where the screen is stuck at 0% complete. Tried to reset again, but the reset always stops at this part.

First, try to channel up on the DirectTV remote and see if it will enable you to view channels even though the screen says it is not done loading. If it will not allow you to view channels, you should call DirecTV - they can try to resend the information remotely over the phone (one of the advantages of satellite TV - much can be done from afar).

When it's rebooting, on the first blue screen press 02468 on the remote. This will force a software update. If you have trouble getting it enter at the right time or you just want to make sure, just keep pressing 02468 until it goes to the update. It won't hurt any thing. Hope this helps.

If your screen is stuck on 0% complete when trying to receive satellite signal, press and hold INFO on your remote for a few seconds until a menu comes up. "Run System Test" should be highlighted (if not press the green button on remote). Press select. It will run a diagnostic test. When it's finished, it will show you the results. If the tests fail, you will get a diagnostic code. Call DirecTV with this code and they will tell you what is causing your problems.

**If you just want to bypass the frozen screen and get to your DVR List, then after pressing INFO when it goes to the menu, just press the LIST button.

Doublecheck your cable connections on the back. Make sure that you didn't knock the Satellite In connections loose when you unplugged it.

My DVR stays in the sleep mode how do I reset

Can you give us a clue about what manufacturer and what model and what your DVR is connected to?

For example a certain DVR requires that you unplug the AC plug from the wall outlet, then hold down the POWER and MENU buttons, and then re-insert the AC plug.

That is one type of DVR.

Will not record a program, can not access dvr recorded programs. When DVR button is pressed get the message " ERROR 024 Unable to access this feature at this time : data not available " .

Hello this is Matthew Gonzales with DISH Network customer service. With a 024 message, the best thing that we can do is hard reset the receiver. To do a hard reset, you simply unplug the receiver from the power outlet it is connected to, leave it unplugged for 20 seconds, then plug it back in. The receiver reboot process takes about 5 minutes. Once the show is back on, try accessing your DVR again, if it is still not working, the receiver will need to be replaced. If this is still a problem, please feel free to email me at [email protected] with your account number so we can get this resolved.

Light in the set box is not changing red light is flickering. Green light is not coming inspite of changing the batteries in the remote control. I am having Dish TV in my house.

Hi, this is Mary with Dish Network Customer Service. It sounds like you are experiencing a power issue with your Dish network VIP622 DVR. You can try resetting the Receiver box by unplugging it for 10 seconds (if it is plugged into a surge protector, for the purpose of troubleshooting, plug directly into a wall outlet). Wait for receiver to reacquire satellite signal. If you are still having an issue, you will need to contact Dish Network because the receiver box will probably need to be replaced. I hope this information helps you.

Guest,

Are you still having problems with your DVR receiver? Try unplugging the receiver for 10 seconds and plugging back in. The receiver will reboot and acquire satellite signal. If this doesn't fix the problem there may be an issue with the receiver. I hope this helps.

Reciever constantly powers on and then off again

ryantrulling,

If the receiver is powering off/on, there may be an issue with the power supply. Have you unplugged the receiver from the electrical outlet? If not, unplug for 10 seconds and plug back in. This will reboot the receiver and have it reacquire the satellite signal. If the lights do not illuminate after plugging the receiver back into the electrical outlet, please call 1-800-333-3474. We need to replace the receiver.

My dish DVR HD control doesn't work

lumaes200,

You have indicated that you have a 622 DVR receiver, since this is where your posting was found. When you trying any of the DVR functions on the remote, do you get an error message (024 or 311) indicating that the function is not available at this time? If not, try unplugging the receiver for 10 seconds from the electrical outlet. This will reboot the receiver and re-acquire the satellite signal. Once the picture returns, try the DVR function. If the problem continues, please call 1-800-333-3474; we may need to replace the receiver. I hope this helps.

Is the cabling from the satellite receiver to the DVR hooked up right. It sounds like it's in single mode, but with the coax cable put on the wrong way.

The dvr function doesn't seem to be working. I

More than likely, the internal hard drive has failed. I have had this happen to me. I would first do a hard reset, that is unplugging the unit and leaving it unplugged for at least 20 sec. Plug the unit back in, and let it power up. This will take a few minutes to locate the satellites and download the guide. If you still cannot use the DVR after a hard reset, most likely the hard drive is a goner. You can still use the reciever to watch T.V., but you will not be able to record. There is no point in trying to replace the drive because it would cost you more than you would spend to replace it.

My DVR-625, wont even turn on.

at the time the hard drive problem came up the receiver would of went into recovery mode this can take a good hour for it to fix and can do nothing until it would finish on its own and take care of. Doing the power reset is just like unpluging the receiver. Try unpluging again for 30 minutes and plug back in again and just wait receiver should come back on its own. Don't hit any buttons. If not will have to send out to dish for repair. 800-333-3474 dish
