Pops and shut off then comes back on but no sound. can turn off and back on and will be ok for a day or just a min. but no will not do anything but flash the green power light on and off.
Sounds like you have a bad power supply or possibly a power supply not rated for your tv or the display is just junk . Unplug it and leave it unplugged until you can get it fixed or looked at, POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD!!!

That tv is very old and it just reached its life expectancy. It could be repaired but it will cost you more than a brand new tv. Black Friday coming up and you will find a great deal.

I have the same problem with mine. I can recreate the problem by stopping the small fan on the right side by the inputs. I'm not sure if its a heat problem or not. I already bought a new Sony Bravia but will continue to tinker with this for awhile.
Sound like you have a overheating problem. Your capacitors might have reached their end of life thus making them overheat quickly. Try to check if there is a fan inside your TV. If there is a fan, try to clean it see if that helps.
Your tv is being attacked by electrical surges which seem very violent and has already damaged some logic controls. Please invest in a AC filter which will protect your tv from such spikes....... but first you need to get your tv serviced from the electrical damaged it has already suffered.
hello it sound like theres may be a dry joint probably in the power supply you would need a strong light and a magnifying glass and soldering iron and some solder
call 877-543-8325 this is an LG Executive call center and they will fix this for free. I have a 50" plasma I bought january 2006 which is out of warranty by 5 months. They faxed me and the LG repair shop a 30 day warranty for my tv to cover the repair. Just tell them you heard a pop and in my case the picture is distorted. All they need is the model number and serial number and they should take care of it. No arguing needed.
