Re: Sony Walkman mp3 not charging (Red exclamation mark)
The player's battery is recharged while the player is connected to a running computer. It takes about 4 hours to fully recharge.
While the player is connected to the computer, do not turn on, restart, wake up from sleep mode or shut down the computer. Doing so may cause the player to malfunction. Disconnect the player from the computer before performing any of the above functions to the computer.

plug it into your computer
click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll down universal serial bus controllers it might be listed as a mass storage device you could see a yellow question / exclamation mark? ! or a red X
When your MP3 is connected to the PC. Click start -> Right-click 'My Computer' -> Properties -> Device Manager and your MP3 may show up with a yellow exclamation mark next to it on this window. Right click it and select 'Update Drivers'. Click next, Tick the option 'Let me choose driver...' then choose USB Mass Storage Device and click next and it should work.
