Red Screen My TV has a red tint to the screen. It is especially evident when I turn it to a video input that has nothing on it and it's supposed to be a black screen, it is bright red. When I turn it to cable, it has a red tint to the whole screen.

One predominant color can also be caused by failure in the circuits of the other two colors, including the CRT guns themselves. Another common issue is an overly Green screen due to poor output from the Cyan (Red) and Blue guns or circuits.

Red tint on the screen an picture

Make sure the signal cable for the input you are using is tight. Possibly try a different cable. Especially if you are using the Red Green Blue component cables. Make sure the issue is across all inputs. If so, try adjusting settings for tint. if that doesn't help you may need to replace the TV.

Grainy and red tint on component video inputs from

Usually when you have a red tint when using the component input i'ts because the wires are switched on one end or one of the 3 video wires is bad. See if blue and green are switched.I see this all the time. Is your picture grainy on all input?

I have a hitachi rptv model #43FWX20B and the picture has a red tint to it. Opened back up and red green and blue bulbs light up. red bulb stays bright while blue and green go dim to bright as tv plays....

Howdy;
Since you don't have any white lines with the red screen/picture I would say that the red bulb (CRT) is conducting too much. There is an adjustment control for that. The 'sceen' control is behind the speaker cover and service cover. Turn red screen control slightly to the left until you get a good black and white picture.

Good Luck, Big Irish.

My pictures are always to red

The screen control setting may need to be adjusted - the screen contol is a service adjustment and is located internal to the TV. If you turn the TV to a blank channel or video input with nothing connected is the prevailing color red? if so adjusting the screen control may help.You would have to take off the front panel and remove the covering- let me know if you want to go ahead and I'll guide you further - caution since high voltage is present in this area.

Display has red tint across entire screen. Could it be the bulb? If so, is that still available? Approximate cost?

two possible solutions----either a problem on the small circuit board that is connected to the RED picture tube OR the red screen control is turned up too high. These sets have a small square block with RED,Green, Blue screen controls(same place also has red, green, blue Focus controls) if you remove the speaker grill you will find an inspection plate made of masionite---the focus/screen block is visable behind it----get a flashlight and look carefully at the block---one row of 3 plastic shafts is Focus(don't touch those) the other 3 are Screens(you should see R, G, B marked) go to a blank video input(one with nothing attached) and turn the RED SCREEN CONTROL JUST SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT UNTIL the red goes away.

Sanyo Tv color problem

I would check the green signal all the wat to the display screen to determine is this is a signal problem or a system short. I would recommend that you take this set to a qualified electronics technician

Toshiba 32AF41 Power up Problem and Green Screen

My first inclination would be to check the picture tube, especially if the set is over 7 years old. If it is not that, then anything from bad solder connections to capacitors or a defective IC could be the cause. If it's over 10 years old, replace it. No use flogging a dead horse.
