Carseat jammed to easy base 2

Help. I can't release the carseat from the easy base 2. I suspect alignment wasn't right when I fitted the car seat onto base. But can't get base to release as I think seat belt got caught somehow. What can I do?

Try pressing down very hard on the seat while trying the release. If that does not work, call the manufacturer.
Note: if this does release, check the seat belt for damage before using again. Also check that the belt path used to install the base is/was correct.

SOURCE: Have purchased Maxi Cosi baby restraint with Easy Base - Iso fix,

The Maxi Cosi CabrioFix and EasyFix can only be used with IsoFix or the seat belt on (preferrably) the back seat. Please don't alter the mounting system of the seat as it will give unpredicable results!

The Commodore name has been around since 1978 so it is possible when you own an older Commodore you won't have any means to fix the Maxi Cosi seat.

If you do have IsoFix and/or seat belts in the back seat then please elaborate on the exact nature of the problem.

With kind regards,

SOURCE: fixing maxicosi seat to base

Hi,

If you have a Cabrio Fix carseat, underneath the carseat should be two silver metal bars that slot into the base, if these are not on the carseat then you have the Cabrio model which is not compatible with the base.

I hope this helps.

SOURCE: Hi, I would like to ask

Good Morning

The Maxi Cosi CabrioFix can be fitted without any base, using the 3 point seatbelt: With the EasyFix base, using IsoFix points or 3 point seatbelt: With the EasyBase and EasyBase 2 using the 3 point seatbelt. It cannot be used with the Mico carseat base as they are not designed to be used together. The Mico is available in US and does not meet UK standards: Likewise the CabrioFix does not meet US standards so they should never be used together.

If you don't know how to fit the carseat into your vehicle using the 3 point seatbelt please check your user manual, or download a replacement copy at www.maxi-cosi.com before use go to an authorised retailer to check it is correctly installed as this will affect the performance of the carseat.

What cars does the nania d9 fit

Hi

We recommend a physical fitting of any carseat / carseat base prior to purchase to confirm suitability.

With a carseat that is fitted with 3 point seatbelt there is no way of being able to confirm 100% suitability without a physical fitting as there is no standard length for seatbelts / seatbelt webbing so it can vary widely even between two vehicles of the same make, model and year of manufacture. Contact your local retailer and request a carseat fitter trained member of staff provides physical fitting in your vehicle.

Release button is broken

Hi
To release the carseat from the base you will need a pair of long nosed pliers.

Under the grey button on the base you would normally use to release the carseat you will find a small hole. Put the pliers into this hole and pull the wire inside firmly toward you. Lift the carseat from the base.

The base will now need to come into our engineers for inspection and repair.

If you're in the UK and the product is under 2 years old, please contact your retailer with your proof of purchase and they can arrange for it to be sent to our engineers for inspection / repair work required under warranty.

If you're in the UK and the product is over 2 years old or you no longer have proof of purchase please contact the customer care team on 01284 413 141 Mon-Thur 08:30-17:30 / Fri 08:30-16:30 (Excluding Bank Holidays) to discuss booking it in for chargeable inspection / repair work required.

If you're outside the UK please visit www.maxi-cosi.com and select the country you're in, then use the "Contact Us" tab on the right side for your enquiry to be sent through to the customer care team in your country.

Hi Melanie

To override release the carseat from the base, use a pair of long nosed pliers to reach the wires that are inside the base. They can be accessed underneath the grey button on the base. Pull the wires toward you and the carseat can be lifted from the base.

This is an issue with the base, not the carseat, so the base needs to be sent in for inspection and repair required. Please contact the customer care team for further assistance. 87985515-e848-4733-8df0-f4baae5e6226.jpg

Hi
It sounds as though you have an original Creatis carseat not the CreatisFix. The original Creatis carseat is not compatible with the CreatisFix base and is fitted into the car using the 3 point seatbelt only. We would recommend you return to the shop where you purchased the item to discuss this issue further with them.

Broke the plastic button which release's the straps on my cosi maxi can i buy another one - dont want to buy a new car seat??

Good Evening

The red button is not something available as a spare part that can be sent out for customers to replace themselves due to the safety implications of it being incorrectly fitted; to replace this button the carseat needs a new harness, which must be fitted by our engineers. If your carseat is under 2 years old this is still covered by the warranty, please return the carseat to your retailer with your proof of purchase and they will make arrangements for it to be sent to our engineers for full inspection and any repair work required (in this instance, a replacement harness will be fitted). After full safety checks the carseat will be sent back. Alternatively if the carseat is over 2 years old or you do not have your proof of purchase please contact our customer service department on 01284 413141 (Mon - Fri, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm) and the standard charge for repair is £50 which includes courier delivery of the carseat back to your address; in addition to this you would need to make arrangements and cover costs for the carseat to be sent to the engineers. Hope this helps! Thanks :)

Broke the push down button to release the seat belts can i get a new button?

Good Evening

The button itself is not an item which can be replaced; to replace this release button you need to replace the entire harness system. For safety reasons this must be done by our qualified engineers.

If the carseat is under 2 years old please return to your retailer with your proof of purchase and ask them to make arrangements for this repair. Following the repair (in this instance, a replacement harness fitted) the carseat will have full safety checks before being returned.

If the carseat is over 2 years old or you do not have your proof of purchase please contact our customer service department on 01284 413141 (Mon - Fri, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm) to book it in for chargeable repair. Standard charge is £50 and this includes courier delivery of the carseat back to your address. In addition to this you will need to make arrangements and cover costs for courier delivery of the carseat into the engineers.

How do u release seat from base

Good Evening

At the front of the base unit (nearest to the edge of the vehicle seat) there is a large grey release clip. Pull this clip forward (toward the front of the vehicle) and lift the carseat away from the base. Ensure that you lift the carseat completely away before letting go of the release clip as otherwise it may not release fully and the carseat will still be partly attached.

How Do You Assemble The Carseat To The Stroller.

You need to remove the food/drink tray from the front of the stroller and then the carseat should fit right over where the tray once was- it will click down and stay secure just like it clicks when attached right into the base for the car. To take the car seat off- you simply take it off the same way as you take it off the base in the car!
