We have a Friedrich qstar from 1992. Its not cooling. Would it be cheaper to have it repaired or should we just get a new system since it is so old. thanks

Multiple issues, it could be low on freon (depending on the model replacing it may require a authorized repair man). Or it could be the condenser coils aren't charging properly. When it turns on do you notice an audible click when the temp setting should kick the a/c on? If not it's then the coils could be clogged or not connected properly.

Find the probe from the thermostat,and move it away from the evaporator coils,it is in the front of the coils,behind the filter.If this was at all helpful,please rate,thank you.
Not know where you live ( state) if you have a Grainer in the area, or a Home Depot, you can purchase replacement ( cut to size with support) another maybe Ace hardware or On line ( type in "air filter for A/C)
water leakage from indoor unit
1.clean cooling coil
2. wash air filter
3. check drain tray.if it block then clean it
4. check drain pipe U band.
5.check indoor unit water tray.if damage change by new one or repair it
