Some programs do not work on my c5 when I press them ..Such as imo instant messenger. please help me

Please follow the below Instructions
1 Take pictures independent of communications software on the Windows version of the netbook by using the webcam without connecting to networking software. Use the buttons on the control panel to adjust image size or take photos. 2 Use the Instant Messenger program on the Acer Linux-based laptop or netbook to work the webcam. The Acer Instant Messenger program is available in the Connect folder on the Acer laptop's desktop screen.
3 To send and receive live video and pictures using your webcam on an Acer laptop, work the webcam through individual communications software, including Skype, Windows Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger, or Google Video Chat. Open your selected communications software program and click the webcam button to work your webcam.

Have you tried uninstalling your Yahoo Messenger and reinstalling it? That should work. While you're doing that, if you wanna chat with your friends, you can use meebo or imo.im . They're online messengers that work pretty well.

Follow this steps:

- login on ebuddy using your yahoo account
- you will receive in your imbox a notification that your yahoo messenger account is used by ebuddy: "You agreed to share your Yahoo! information with eBuddy."
- go to imo.im
- add your yahoo account without domain
- it works

It seems that the unlocking action done by ebuddy is useful also for imo.im

Go to start button, control panel, Programs-uninstall programs. Click Yahoo Messenger. Click uninstall. Then go to http://messenger.yahoo.com/download/ and re-instal the latest version following all instructions. If it still does not work after that, you may need to install some updates for flash players, but the Messenger instal will tell you that this is the case, and will direct you to where you can get those updates/programs.

I had the same problem.
Luckyly I found an easy solution.

Close yahoo messenger
STEP -1
go to Start Button - Run - type regsvr32 jscript.dll - then press OK
STEP-2
go to Start Button - Run - type regsvr32 vbscript.dll - then press OK

After that everything worked smoothly.

Easiest way to resolve a problem with messenger is to uninstall it then reinstall the program.

To uninstall go to Start - Control Panel - Programs. Find Yahoo messenger in the list and uninstall it.

For the latest version of Yahoo messenger go to this link http://messenger.yahoo.com/download

Download and reinstall the program following the onscreen instructions.

sometimes reinstalling the YM Apps is not the solution, after you install it the YMis still not working its better to remove the folder of the messenger first in the C:/program files ; also try to remove the messenger datalink library in win32 and registry

First you have to uninstall the 9.0 version. Go to CONTROL PANEL----than go to PROGRAMS/FEATURES, or ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS. Scroll down till you see YAHOO MESSENGER. Click on it and than click UNINSTALL
