Keypad not responsive; lights blink- no joy!

When I plug in the washer, the keypad lights up and goes through a pretty blinking sequence. (like the christmas tree lights that blink in time with the music)None of the buttons are responding and it will not start, pause or anything. The blinking has a definite order to it; it seems to be checking each function starting at counting down on the timer to 0 and then starting again? Am I crazy or did I buy the most expensive xmas decoration ever?

Just bring your laundry on over to my house anytime!!! Guru, I called Maytag hotline, surfed the net for two days and finally made an appointment for our homely lonely maytag guy to come out. And how sweet it is to call them back and tell them to get another date as the GURU done fixed the thang! You are awsome.

Had the same issue, cycle normal light keeps on flashing. I turn the knob just made a beeping sound but the light stayed fix and flashing on normal.
I replaced the lock-lid sensor that was seen to fix the issue.

Dresser, this could be the units "Advertising/Sales" mode... to activate/de-activate, do this...

Press and hold the "Delay Start", the "Chime", and the "Spin & Drain" switch pads (at the
same time) for five (5) seconds.

Hope this helps! Let us know, will you?

The smart wash light on my kenmore elite model 66513753K602 is flashing. I have tried the suggested button sequences to reset it and they have not worked. How do I troubleshoot it to determine which...

From the tech sheet:

CHECKING KEYPAD
OPERATION
A rapidly blinking LED over
one of the keys of the keypad
(or sometimes a "dead"
keypad/console) indicates one
or more key switch lines are
stuck or shorted on either the
control or the keypad. To
determine if the control or
keypad is faulty, do the
following test:
1. Unplug dishwasher or disconnect
power.
2. Open the dishwasher door.
3. Open console and disconnect the
keypad ribbon connection from
the control (at P1). Make sure all
other connections are made.
4. Put console back together. Do not
close the dishwasher door.
5. Plug in dishwasher or reconnect
power.
6. Wait 5 seconds.
7. Close dishwasher door.
8. Monitor the control's response:
? If the control is OK (no longer

unplugged), it will respond by
turning on a Drain Motor for
2 minutes. Check and/or
replace the keypad if the
control responds OK.
? If the control is not OK (still

motor will NOT respond and
will remain off. If no response,
replace the control.

Normal light blinks

Hi

Open the door. Within 3 seconds press the following sequence --Try pressing normal wash, heated dry, normal wash, heated dry, normal wash, heated dry three times within 6 seconds and then press cancel to reset the dishwasher. If that doesn't help then try pressing Saini Rinse, Heated Dry, Saini Rinse, Heated Dry, Saini Rinse, Heated Dry or Saini Rinse, Air Dry, Saini Rinse, Air Dry,Saini Rinse, Air Dry 3 times in 6 seconds and then the Cancel Button. Close the door and press Cancel.
Blinking lights would stop and should be able to use your dishwasher normally. If the light is still blinking try and reset the power to the dishwasher and try again. If still the light is blinking then check for the connections on the keypad, it may be due to moisture or shorted connections on keypad.

Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

My normal cycle and cancel button lights are blinking on my kitchenaid dishwasher. Model # KUDP02CR8S2 Any suggestions?

Probably a keypad gone bad. Try replacing the keypad.

There is a troubleshooting guide behind the foot kick panel. It gives a sequence to test for a bad keypad. You can try that sequence to be sure.

I think I've accidentally activated the lock feature...

does logic board on motor have a small pushbutton or dip slide switches? If pushbutton, push it for 10 seconds. let do. panel light stop blinking? Unit somehow got into lock mode, even though you do not have lock button. If this has stopped light from blinking, you now have to code remotes and or keypad back in. Push the little buton for 1 second and push a remote. Light bulbs on unit should blink. Take next remote (or keypad) and repeat this sequence for each one. Let me know. If you have safety beams, liftmaster should help you. w/o beams they will not support.

Cancel Light Flashing on Kitchen Aid Dishwasher

I ran into this same problem. Cutting the power didnt reset it.

After power reset, mine had the normal led blinking. If I pressed cancel, then the cancel and china button leds would start blinking too.

I pulled out the trouble shooting guide (from behind the baseboard kick panel under the dishwasher door). It that if the dishwasher wont run and button LEDs are blinking there is a short circuit in the keypad. It gave a keypad diagnostic sequence which I followed. (disconnect keypad and try to initiate the diagnostic cycle without the keypad by disconecting the yellow leads to OWI sensor twice in less than 6 seconds.

I could hear the diagnostic cycle start, so the problem is a bad keypad. Will order a new one tomorrow and let you know if it works.
