Is my phone done?

I have water damage to my phone. I have it soaking in rice atm but i can't get it past the verizon screen when turning it on. I believe the water got in through my headphone jack on my phone because that was the first thing popping up on my phone. Is my phone permenantly damaged? The water indicator is pink.

If the rice trick does not work, you can also try blow drying it on low heat, but at this point, sadly, it probably is

SOURCE: water damage on lg enV

remove battery and put it in a bag of rice for a while..any moisture should be absorbed.

Put it in a ziplock bag of uncooked rice for several weeks. And make sure the battery is out of it. So put in the battery and phone but they should be apart.

If the phone is not completely dry when you turn it on, it will usually ruin it. If you are really lucky, the battery contacts corroded and your phone will work if you clean them.

I have rescued phones from water damage before by disassembling the phone and removing the battery and then drying the phone completely before trying to turn it on.

I'd start looking for a new phone. You can still use your old one for the parts and accessories.

I wish that I could have given you a solution that makes your phone work again.

You could try and have it repaired but most likely the damage has already been done to the phone so no guarantee it's even fixable. I'd get a new phone maybe one of the water proof one's :)

You may have to get a screen replacement. You can do this yourself if you want to try it and buy the parts. Or take it into a shop, or apple will replace it but most likely charge you way more than any of those options unless its your first replacement.

I dropped my phone in water... And it won't turn

It's an electronic device so it would be very difficult if it'll fell in water. first remove its shell and then get a hair dryer and turn it to low. carefully blow dry the insides of your phone. if you are using an iphone it would be best to consult a phone tech.

Hello, I have a Samsung GT-I5800, I caught my son with it earlier and he had drooled all over it, the inside was all soaking wet and now it wont turn on.. it just keep flashing up the GT-I5800 screen and...

Take out anything that isn't attached to the phone (memory card, sim card, battery,etc). Submerge everything in an uncovered bowl of dry rice. Leave it for at least 24 hours (36 if you can wait). The water damage indicators are located at one end of the battery and on the back of the phone underneath the cover. If they're pink they're toast. Wait for the 24 hours before trying to turn it back on, sometimes people get lucky.

Likely not as most phones have sensors in them to indicate there's water damage and it's difficult, if not impossible to repair. Have you tried putting the water soaked phone in a bag of rice? I've had that work on a fair number of occasions.

What color is dot going to be if water

well. there are a few things you can look for.
Iron-Oxide(rust) - it will be very small so look carefully
Discoloration - if the phone was turned on after the water hit it or while it was in the water it will have shorted. so look for a patch of the circut board that is odly coloured(near battery is the best spot to look)
and look at the screen
liquid crystals DO NOT LIKE water. so look for discoloration in the screen(if it turns on)

if there is condensation inside the phone

get some jasmine rice
get a sealable container
put the rice into the container, and sink the phone into the rice
seal the container
store in a cool dry place

what this does is, the rice soaks up all the water taking it off your phone

Water damage

The phone is done. The speaker cannot handle water damage.
You can try leaving the phone site in plain, uncooked rice for a day or so, but most likely this phone will never be used again.

I drop my phone centro palm into water! I charge the phone and the red light turns on but my phone wont turn on at all. What can i do

Get a bowl of rice. Remove the battery from the phone. Leave the phone back open. Put phone and battery in the bowl of rice, cover and leave overnight.

The rice will hopefully soak up any water inside the phone and battery. If this doesn't work there may be permanent damage to the phone from the water and charging afterwords.
