Delta DPS-208BP schematic - need C7816 capacitor info

I recently acquired an LC-40E77UN (60Hz) that I was told had no picture, but had sound. Seemed like another case of bad caps to me. I removed the back cover and plugged it in. I saw arching on the power supply (RDENCA354WJQZ / Delta DPS 208BPA). I disconnected the power and easily tracked down a BUBAR (burned up beyond all recognition) capacitor at C7816. Does anyone know/have the info on that little gem, or possibly a Delta board schematic? I have searched and checked a few places with no luck. The Sharp service manual does not have the Delta board schematic. I did hook it up to cable afterwards, plugged it in, and it displayed a black/white static screen (did not have time to switch to cable input on channel 3), AND a nice clear Channel 34 TV station logo for a few seconds before blinking out to a black screen. The power (P) and OPC (Optical Picture Control) (O) blinking codes repeat as follows: P and O simultaneously (pause) POPPO (pause) POP (pause) OPPO (pause) P (pause) P and O simultaneously Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Replacement boards are in the $60 range, but where's the fun in that?

SOURCE: SOUND BUT NO PICTURE

I had the same problem today with the same symptoms. I tried a power reset, removing the cables, checked all inputs and got the same symptoms.

I found a temporary fix. When I turned the TV on, I immediately press the backlight but on the remote until the bar appears then lower the setting down to 10. This may take a couple of tries of powering the TV off/on. Once I got the setting lowered to 10, the picture stayed on. If you invoke any of the presets it will change this setting. I'm going to call someone and try to get more information on a permanent fix.

I hope this helps, at least I got the picture back.

No power at all

Check the capacitors in the power supply, check for any bulged tops. Your problem is most likely power supply related.

I recently purchased a Delta 50-760 Dust Collector and was told I could convert the motor to 220 volt. I presently have a 220 volt saw and wanted to run them both on 220 so I looked at the book and it said...

I am currently in the process of doing the same thing. Look at the inside cover of the switch case. This is where the capacitor is housed and is attached to the motor. On the inside cover there is a wire schematic. Not a very good one. I have yet to fully trace out the current wire connections. Don't forget to change your plug. You do not need to replace the switch, just rewire input power to the motor.

Sharp lc-26d40u No picture

I have a Sharp Aquos LC-40E77UN with the same issue, and have tracked down a single burned capacitor at C7816 on the power supply board, and am looking for info on the capacitor in order to replace it. (Power supply: RDENCA354WJQZ / Delta DPS 208BPA). - Any help with a schematic would be appreciated!)
Since you say the picture went out, it is possible that you might have the same problem, Bad/failed/leaking capacitors are, unfortunately, quite common in electronics. There are volumes of info available on the subject.
Replacement power boards can also be purchased. One for my TV runs about $60 to $120 depending on used or new. Since I was able to see a good picture on mine for a few seconds, despite the burnt out capacitor, I'm opting to try and find/replace the cap myself (using the proper safety procedures), or at worst, have a repair done to the power supply.
Backlights should typically last around 60,000 hours.

35 inch Mitsibutchi TV model #CS-35201A, serial #502637, manufactured 1993 TV made a popping sound when turned on and now only visable object is a straight horizontal colored line in middle of screen....

Hello dan82810,

The picture tube or CRT is not the problem, and yes this set is fixable. What has happened is that the vertical deflection circuit has malfunctioned. More precisely the vertical coupling capacitor has malfunctioned (The pooping sound was the capacitor exploding).

Open up your TV (take the back off and unplug the set), and look for the damaged capacitor, it will look puffy or if it has exploded.

To fix this problem you will need the schematic diagram for the TV (can be found at www.servicemanuals.net). Then you will need a multimeter to measure the DC voltages on the vertical output circuit, and finally an oscilloscope to measure the waveforms at the vertical output circuit and the input to the vertical windings of the deflection yoke transformer.

Now what you should basically find is a sawtooth wave at 60Hz which is the drive for the yoke transformer. However since the coupling capacitor is bad you will have the wave at the output of the vertical output stage, but not at the input of the yoke transformer. Use the schematic to find the value of the capacitor that has malfunctioned.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,
