Limited of no Connectivity when using wireless connection

Just set up my Linksys Wireless router at home. I've connected the modem to the router and the ethernet cable to my laptop which works fine. However when other Laptops try to connect via wireless connection they get a limited or no connectivity signal response.

I think I've configured the settings wrong for the wireless connection help please (oh and i can't seem to find the CD that came with the router as well)

Unless you are going to use the wizard then the CD is not required.

Can the others see the network? (Start, connect to, show all connections). If they can then you're half way there.

Have you enabled any type of security on the router? If you have then be sure the others are set the same.

Default the router by pressing the reset button on the back with a ball point pen for 5 seconds. This will change all your settings to Factory Default, DHCP with no security (open to all).
To configure connect wired or wireless and type 192.168.1.1 in the URL field of a browser. The User Name is <blank> and password is "admin".
Change the SSID to whatever you want your network name to be. Unless you have B devices, I suggest changing it to G only so it will run at 54Mbps. Selecting the default "Both" will cause it to run at 10Mbps. Do apply, save and exit. You should be able to connect wireless with NO SECURITY. If you can not you have different issues that security.
If you can then you can go back in and go to Wireless>Security and select the type and password you want to use. I suggest WPA or WPA2 and a easy password to remember like your phone number. When you hit save, if you are connected wireless it will disconnect you. When you reconnect it will ask for the password.
Go back in and change the configuration password from "admin" to something else by entering it twice under the Administration tab.
Hit save.

Limited connectivity with huwaie wireless 3G stc modem.

If you get a 'Limited connectivity" on you wirelessconnection on your laptop, it means that the wireless card on your laptop probablydid not get an IP address from the wireless router.
To fix this problem, right click on the wireless icon on the Task bar and thenclick Repair.
This will force the wireless router to issue a IP address to the wireless cardon the laptop.

Router says limited connectivity

Not a lot of info to go on, but I'll give you my thoughts on it. In my experience, limited connectivity indicates the modem isn't connecting up to the internet. You can reset the modem by unpowering it for a few seconds, then seeing if it will connect, but I'm sure you've already tried that. Could be a faulty modem, but I doubt it. Chances are there's a software incompatibility issue between the modem and the wireless card. Was the zonet working with the card before? If it was, you might have to go into Network in control panel and delete the linksys connection, and have windows redetect the Zonet. Sorry, all I can think of, not a whole lot of experience in this arena, and my routers always worked. Maybe someone will have had the same problem and know the solution, that would be the easiest way to go, of course.

Connection says limited or no connectivity

If you connect the computer to the router , does it work ? If yes,
That means the wired connection is OK.
Open the set up page of the router check the wireless settings of the router.
I think your network is secured and you are not typing the correct network key.
just open the router set up and check the wireless settings .

No connectivity

So your wireless router won't work?

Try this:
1. Click Start of windows logo.
2. Click run>Type cmd>Type ipconfig /all.
3. Find the MAC address/Physical address (like 00:00:00:00...) which is connected to the modem.
4. Go to wireless router settings (192.168.1.1)
5. Go to MAC address tab, copy your MAC address of your network.
6. Before that, go to home page and choose Dynamic IP (if this same to before, leave it.)

Wireless connection will not work

The computer is viewing the signal, but its not connected yet. For that you have to enter a "key" in hexadecimal format. In other words you have to configure the security of the wireless connection on the router, then you have to enter the "key"that the router gives you. To enter the administrative configuration of the router, connect with the cable the computer and in the internet browser, enter 192.168.0.1 or search for gateway IP address of the computer. There you configure Wireless Settings. Always use encryption for security reasons. WEP encryption will be good.

I have had a wireless dynex router for awhile and it has been working fine using wireless then when i plugged in my computer and xbox 360 to the router it has made the computers using the wireless internet...

it is getting limited or no connectivity because it is actually not connected even though it shows.the best resolution is that change your entire wireless settings and then connect all wireless devices like computer and xbox 360 again it will connect.I use to do the same when i use to work for netgear.

Limited or no connectivity

Limited or no connectivity only means that your laptop is not getting a avlid IP address like 192.168.1.100 from the router that can be cause by a ivalid security key or you need to adjust some settings on the router like the wireless name, wireless channel and wireless security, so I recommend you to call Linksys tech support and let them walk you through in checking the settings of the router, this is the number 800-3267114

Hope that helps...........

Can't get to internet anymore

Try to remove the preferred networks on your Presario then try connecting again. If you have wireless security enabled on your router, you have to enter that. Make sure that the settings on your router is the same as your wireless adapter so that they can synchronize.

If you have difficulty with that, just ask me and I'll answer as soon as I can.

Cannot connect to wireless network

I agree with JonwVBFL, it sounds like the DHCP server is not enabled on the router. You can enable this using the administrative web interface on the router (http://192.168.1.1). The default username is admin with a blank password or vice versa.
