I had the same problem with my HP Office Jet 7210 All-In-One Printer. I used the solution provided by Bob Headrick, and it worked great. You can't be scared to use a command prompt, though.

You can correct the "Back side upside down in Vista" issue by applying a patch which you can get by following the instructions here.

Duplex printing in HP 2420dn on Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4

According to the specs, this printer does not have a duplex unit and therefore cannot print double sided prints.
DOUBLE SIDED PRINTING USING A SINGLE SIDED PRINTER
If your printer does not have a duplex unit then the printercannot print double sided pages automatically.
You can print double sided pages but you have to do it one page at a time.
First print Page 1 then place the page back into the paper tray, but turn thepage upside down and the print Page 2.
Then print page 3 on one side then page 4 on the other side and repeat for therest of the document.
I suggest you try a test page first, to get the printing the right way up onboth sides of the page so it reads correctly.

How do I use my printer as a duplex for making copies on both sides? Thanks Roxanne

The printer does not support duplex coping. If you want to do manual duplex copying, you can make a copy of the first page.
Then reinsert the paper upside down in the manual tray or paper tray, fil the page on the document feeder and make the back copy.

My book fold booklet is printing upside down when duplexed!

You may need to tell word you want your printer to flip on the short side and not the long side. With my Canon printer I get a drop down menu IN WORD (not printer setup) that gives choice of: print one side; print two side flip on long; and print two sides flip on short.

If your printer does not have the duplex module installed, then you are manually trying to print duplex, correct? If so, rotate the first printed batch before reinserting into the printer. On the second pass, the printer will print with the proper orientation.

If you are having problems with the duplex module, section 3-4 of the operations manual has some good troubleshooting tips. Section 3-2 describes printing with the duplex module.

You can read the operations manual here:

Duplexer problem

First, the machine always prints the first page first. Make sure you have the right driver (4 plus and not 4)and check the settings in the device settings of your printer driver on the pc. Also make sure the duplex unit is for the 4 plus and not the 4.
