I have a Fuji Finepix S9600 with damaged LCD screen

I have a Fuji Finepix S9600 and the LCD screen seems to be damaged (part of the screen is black the rest is ok and the finished picture is ok if seen through viewfinder). Can a new LCD screen be purchased?? if so where?

Can I use 4AA lithium Ion batteries in my Fuji SLR finepix s9600 .Thanks Les

It's better not to, Les.
Fuji suggest using AA Ni-MH batteries or simply alkaline. Others [e.g., Ni-CAD] can cause the camera to overheat and give real problems. Given the relatively low cost anyway, higher capacity Ni-MH batteries and a good charger unit seems the way to go - and will keep the camera healthy!

Fuji Finepix S9600 - Photography mode doesn't work

Sounds like the CCD (main image sensor) is dead. It should be covered under warranty. It doesn't sound like there is anything you've done, or can do to rectify it. Get it in to a Fuji service center with your warranty/receipts.

S9600

i have a Fuji S9600 which seems to have a faulty On/Off dial. When swithing the camera on, the playback screen is displayed without any problem. However when selecting the picture taking mode, the LCD or view finder becomes a very faint grey colour and is dimly illuminated. When switching the camer off, this grey screen still remains until the batteries run out! The only way to switch off completely is to open the battery compartment. has anyone any ideas?

Cheers

Andy

Broken LCD

Neither Fuji nor Sony sell replacement parts. Only authorized service centers will be able to get these parts. Depressing, I know, its a nice camera. :(
