Problem transferring photos to the PC

After 4 years' successful operation, now my Samsung Digimax S1000 camera fails to transfer photos to my PC. Here's what happens: - the memory is full; - I connect the camera to the PC (as before), BUT, on my PC's screen I only see 3 of the hundreds of photo shots that are actually stored in Samsung's SD card. - When I try to transfer the photos the PC gives the signal "There's a problem connecting the camera to the PC". - all photos are visible for playback on Samsung camera's own screen, but are not visible on the computer screen. Thanks in advance for any helpful tip.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com )

Put the memory stick inside the camera. Then open the photos which is save in your camera memory. Select them all & then you find a option Send to memory card or copy to memory card. Select that and press ok. Your photos transfer from camera memory to memory stick.
