Also you may want to run a thorough scan to ensure the virus was completely removed.

Try finding the driver's to download directly from the Philips site. Go into Device Manager and expand Input devices and select the keyboard then update driver. Choose to manually select the driver and choose the one you downloaded from Philips.

SOURCE: Mouse not recognized/ mouse port not working

I kept hold about 30 seconds the blue light button on the USB controller device and it worked!. I guess that's the way to sinchronize both the mouse and the USB controller of the mouse. Ramón.

SOURCE: Keyboard has a mind of its own

This isn't software or a virus or even a ghost in your keyboard.
You have some "sticky" keys. Have a look very closely around those keys and make sure something small hasn't fallen between the keys preventing them from operating correctly.
You may have also had some liquid spint on that section (not by you) and you didn't realise.

Unplug the keyboard, turn it over in the air and give it a good shaking (don't beat it or hit it) just shake it and see if you can hear anything possibly lodged in there...maybe a midnight snack =)

SOURCE: microsoft wireless keyboard 6000 v 2.0 often stops working. No id

Are your batteries in the Keyboard and mouse good?

On the receiver there is three lights. The "A" is the CAP LOCK light, The "1" is the RECEIVER light and the "F" is the F LOCK light.

You probably have gotten it working by now but here is a way to get it work if not.

Press the Receiver button a(and the lights will start flashing, then if its the Keyboard that isn't working, press the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the board to connect.

If its the MOUSE do the same except push the small RESET?CONNECT button on the back of the mouse to connect. Then they should work properly. Hope this helps. Bud

Dc5700 won't connect usb mouse and keyboard after disconnect

why run dead XP?, is the PC ONLINE? or off/?
The USB plug and play is failing,
you do know MS killed dead Plug and Play for XP 4 years ago right?
the top failure of any pc running XP would be USB devices.
USB devices are extensive in scope, endless types
and top of the list are mice, and keyboards.(vast types exist))

The PnP engine scans the local driver cache first.
if no mouse (example 1) is found to match your unstated mouse
then it must do what? go on line, to MS.com
and MS pulled the plug..... just like they did

time to upgrade, for sure.

a counter argument would be that the virus magnet XP is infected.

PC keeps rebooting itself after G Data software installed

You should not use G-Data antivirus anymore, because the Blue Screen error you are experiencing right now is due to incompatibility of the antivirus with the OS. Moreover, you have told us that other G-Data antivirus users have the same issue. So, you must not use it.
According to users and webpage reviews, some of the best and user-friendly free antiviruses are MSE, Avast, AVG, etc. I've used all of them and they are more or less equally good.
If you are using genuine windows you can use Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE). This one is very light-weight.
Dowload MSE here: windows.microsoft.com/MSE
If you are not using genuine windows or if you are not a windows user, you can use Avast or AVG.
Download Avast here: www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download Download AVG here: free.avg.com/us-en/free-antivirus-download

NOTE: You can get automatic or scheduled virus scans and signature updates with these anti-viruses also. :)
Hope this helps, Mrityunjay.

Dell XP restart problem

This error comes due to 1. RAM problem or 2.Hard disk problem or 3.Software/device driver problem or some times 4.Virus problem.
First you run the system in safe mode (pressing F8 at booting) - restore the system (start-programs - accessories - system tools - system restore). PC will be restarted and if it runs well then fine. If not again run in safe mode- uninstall few softwares or utilities, clear the temporary files, few drivers - restart the PC it may run well. If it does not run in safe mode the problem may be due to virus or critical RAM problem (main suspects, as the error may be for different reason). Now you format the hard disk and install your applications and drivers one by one and restart and check whether the problem repeats. Failure with the step you should change the RAM. With all failures - motherboard should be repaired and you have to give to the service center.

Virus

Restart your computer and before it says "Starting Windows" (XP, Vista or whichever version you have), press the F8 function key on your keyboard. You'd get a menu. Select the "Safe Mode with Networking" and press Enter.

Once Windows boots into safe mode, try to run the programs now. If they run fine in safe mode, download Malwarebytes .

Then, update and run this anti-malware program. It will remove any virus / malware. Once this is done, reboot your computer back normally and the programs should work fine.

Hope that helps,
Regards,

When I turn on my PC, it starts normally. After

Screen Goes Black After Splash Screen

This sounds like a driver may have been updated, changed or has become corrupt, either after a bad update or virus/malware attack. Reboot the computer in safe mode with networking…when the computer reboots, open the control panel > device manager (in XP the device manager is in the system folder) > scroll to the display adapter. Right click on the adapter and roll-back the driver. Click yes and apply if necessary. Reboot the computer, it should reboot and display with no issue. It may ask (if you are automatically connected to the internet) if it can search windows update for a fresh driver….since you know what to do in case of a failed update, click yes and get a fresh driver. I would then do a complete virus and anti-malware scan to make sure the system is clean.

Windows xp always starts with keyboard

Go the control panel> device manager and uninstall the keyboard but keep the drivers. When the system reboots it will recognize the hardware and reload the drivers. If asked, let windows search online for an updated driver. When it is finished installing the hardware, reboot to check the results.
