Recently repaired one of these with what appeared to be a power supply problem; found several defective capacitors on the drive board. The symptoms were similar to what you are seeing.

SONY DHR-1000NP : Problem : No power Already replaced some components in shielded part of power supply : Replaced big capacitors (1500 and 2200 and 680 mico farad) R115 and FET Q101 will always...

I have just fixed one of these. The problem was C104 inside the metal shielded section of the PSU. It's a 2.2uF 50V capacitor. Sony used an 85degC version rather than a 105degC (which I've used). Fortunately, no other components were damaged.

The DHR-1000ux keeps blowing fuses

Blowing fuses are always an indication of a short circuit somewhere in the circuitry of you unit. Unfortunately, this will require a trip to the shop. Get an estimate before approving repair. In the new world of disposable electronics the cost of repair may exceed the value of the unit.

Sony DHR-1000

The timer/display control IC501, located on the FM 26 board (right behind the display tube) is likely bad.
the part number is 8-759-368-84.It will NOT be an easy part for an average consumer to replace. You would be better off looking for a complete FM 26 board A7066705A.

VCR not working for some cassettes

What do you mean by "not able to play my VCR with some cassettes. " Is it that some tapes do not display images? No Video? From your name it seems that you are from India, Assuming that to be so, I also presume that you must be possesing a Multi-System VCR, to play back PAL Tapes from India, and NTSC tapes from the US. And if that is the case, I guess it is a simple problem of resetting the System standards. Please go to the Main menu of your VCR using the Remote, and select AUTO in System (You will be given choices of AUTO, PAL, NTSC 3.58, NTSC 4.43 and NTSC PB PAL. Likewise, it is entirely possible that your Television SYSTEm Standard has been accidentally changed. If it is Multi System TV, Then, again, using the Remote of the TV, select Menu, and then select AUTO in System. In all likelihood your problem should get solved.
