Hunter Fan Light Fixture broke. Bought new Hunter fan lite kit but the rod to screw in light bowl too long - now bought a Hampton Bay lite kit and length is OK but bottom plat too small - what to do??
My Hunter Fan lite broke. We tried to install another but ended up with base with two lite bulbs but nowhere to attach a lite. Did we install something upside down? When purchased a Hunter lite kit to start over the rod to connect light fixture to was way too long! Help - will another universal kit such as Hampton Bay work on this or only hunter kits?

Had this happen to me and it was a hunter fan. Similar problem. Fan worked, lights went out. Took light bulbs out, lowered the light fixture. Tested power coming from the ceiling to the quick connect pins for lights. The power was good. So the Problem's in the light kit. Turns out the government requires all new fans to have certain wattage to lights, set at 190. So 3 60w bulbs or 4 40w. Inside the light kit is a limitor hooked to the black power wire coming from the quick connect,It is smaller wire and mine was pink into limitor and white coming out. Not very big. This went bad so i called Hunter, sending new light kit, but I just wired straight black to black wire bypassed that limitor and lights work fine
what about it doesn't fit? I'd say it should fit. Is it threaded? Is the fan threaded? Are the setscrews on the fan backed all the way out? Is the rod that goes through the top of the fan and the downrod out?
we had a similar problem happen with our Hampton Bay Renaissance fan. It turns out that the warranty does not cover this by the way. The lifetime warranty you refer to is only on the fan motor. This is common with most fan manufacturers- just wanted to let you know about this because I think your interpretation of the warranty is wrong.
This fan is really hard to find and so are the parts for it. I would recommend trying to call Home Depot where you bought it or call the Hampton Bay customer support phone number. You're likely going to have to go through one of those mediums. I feel that the second thing (calling technical support for Hampton Bay) will probably connect you to Home Depot too because Hampton Bay is a house brand of Home Depot.
Your best bet with this would be to call and talk to an electrician over the phone, or contact Hampton Bay. We are seriously liable if we tell you one thing and it turns out to be something else.
For Hampton Bay ceiling fan replacement parts!!!
There is a a major ceiling fan manufacturer in Fort Lauderdale FL called King of Fans (website: kingoffans.com) that deals strictly with Hampton Bay ceiling fans & parts. They are the Home Depot distributor for Hampton Bay ceiling fans. Their number is 1-800-330-3267. There is also a 1-877-527-0313 number for Hampton Bay products other than ceiling fans...
My fan just stopped working - no lights no fan :( and I just can't seem to find any type of switch - only the remote, which lights up just fine. Can anyone help???
Whether there is a reset switch on this unit or not would depend on the model. If you no longer have the owners manual you should be able to get it from the hampton web site. Many fans have a thermal fuse inline that probably was blown when the bulb broke. The cheaper models do not and then I would guess you burned out the switch.
