I lost my ''set-up'' mic for my TX-SR674 AV Receiver.
Is it possible to do entire set-up without mic?
Is it possible to purchase another? How Much?

Hi Zach, you can try the following reset as this might be a glitch in the processor.
To do the reset you need to turn the receiver on, then on the front panel of the receiver press and hold the "VCR/DVR" button while doing that press the "STANDBY/ON" button. You will see the word "Clear" in the display screen and the receiver will go into standby mode.PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR AUDIO & VIDEO ASSIGNMENTS ON THE RECEIVER PLUS YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR SPEAKER CONFIGURATIONS, SPEAKER DISTANCE AND ALL LEVEL CALIBRATION SETTINGS.YOU WILL ALSO LOSE ANY PROGRAMMED RADIO STATIONS IN MEMORY.Once the receiver goes into standby mode turn it back on and go thru the setup menu for all custom settings., Thanks, JT
My first & second
guesses would be monitor & head-set modes...
(possibly Zone 2 activated)
ELSE...
To reset the AV receiver to its factory defaults, turn it on and, while holding down the [VCR/DVR] button, press the [ON/ STANDBY] button (see page 93).
Hello, I am sorry about your issue. It sounds like your receiver may need to be serviced. Please contact Onkyo at 800-229-1687 option #3 so that we can troubleshoot with you and advise of your options. Thank you, CB
Yes, some units lose their presets quickly with the power disconnected. Most lose all memory presets within 10 days. They are designed this way. You may have to get someone in to sort it out for you if you cannot do it. Or ask me for a chat session and I can talk you through it. :)
I'm not an owner of Onkyo but in my Denon owners manual it mentions
"reainitialization of microprocessor" basically resets all to default .
Not sure if your reciever is new just out of the box or used ?
YEs, I have to redo and dont have the Audyssey2eq. It's my understanding it is neccessary to do set up.
Thanks for response
Greetings Bob,
Actually your ears are a much better indicator than your set up mike. Are you trying to redo the initial setup?
