Gunge in door seal samsung Q1233 washing machine

We have a samsung Q1233 washing machine after using there's what I can only describe as greasy grey gunge in the door seal. In order to see it you have move the rubber door seal back The quantity varies, sometimes to the point which it marks the clothes. We've tried everything we can think of to remove it but it keeps coming back. Any ideas as to what causes it and how we can stop it returning would be appreciated.

It's caused by using too much soap powder or fabric conditioner,it doesn't get rinsed away properly and goes greasy & slimy,,,,,if its starting too smell change door seal,,,,,use bicarbonate of soda 1 or 2 times a month, no clothes or detergent,& on a 90 degree wash,,,that should stop it returning

SOURCE: grey scum marking clothes

Power off the mains. The filter is located behind the silver plate at the back of the machine at the bottom. Four screws hold it on. Drain out all the water. The filter is inside the big black rubber hose attached between the pump and the main drum. Remove the plastic clip holding it to the pump unit and then the metal cir clip holding it to the main drum. Inside is a white molded cone and a big white ball which floats. You will find a lot of junk here, clean out thoroughly. To refit put white cone back inside just as you found it, at the bottom, fit ball back into the cone. Attach to the bottom to the drum and re-fasten the cir clip. Finally reconnect the gator to the pump unit and tighten the plastic clip. Check out the pump too before reconnecting.

Seems to collect very yucky greyish gunge around door seals which then gets on the washing and won't come off. Is there something I can run through the machine to clean it?

Light coloured washing gets dark stains during washing, particularly towels. We have tried cleaning using specialist washing machine cleaners, we have put it through the hottest cycle. Any ideas?

I had a similar problem. In my case it was because I always used a low temperature '30' wash. There was a build up of gunge in the folds of the rubber door seal. I wiped this off and then put towels through on a high temperature wash which cured the problem. I repeat the high temperature wash occasionally and the problem has not reappeared. Hope the answer is a simple as this.

I have a Samsung washing machine which is leaving grey / greasy marks on my clothes? any suggestions? I'm not sure what's causing it. I've tried spinning the drun and it feels a bit rough so not sure if it...

bearings may have gone but the marks on the clothes sounds more like the door seal pull the door seal away from the drum slightly and see if it's dirty you get a grey slime caught in the seal give it a good clean

Dirty washing

Does your washer smell? Is your rubber door seal gungy too?

If so then use 1/2 cup of Washing Soda Crystals (50p for a 1kg bag from most supermarkets)
set washer to 60 degree wash and run machine for full hot cycle with no clothes in it... just the Washing Soda.
I did this with my washer which literally reeked, and my friends have since done theirs and the results are amazing...
Go and check your drain when you finish too... mine sparkles now and it was gunged up before.. I now add a desertspoon of Washing Soda to every wash.... I place it in the crease of the door seal and little by little all the mould is disappearing, even though the hot wash cleaned the gunge the black spots remained. My washer smells so clean now and no more black flecks on the clothes either... (these are loose gunge from the outer drum, right inside the works of your machine...)

All the best

Gunge

You can scrub it off with sanitizer. It is recommended to use gloves for it. Good luck !!
