Raymarine C120 I am getting a box on my fishfinder that says NO DATA and under that it says "no data source". This is a fairly new unit and I have the sounder and 4kw raydome. I just got this boat, didn't get the Raymarine manuals, and took it out the other day, it seemed to work fine but soon started giving me this error. I greatly appreciate any help with this. I have the same problem on a new 5 million italian boat since 1 year. ("DSM connection lost" or "No Data") Various service technicians changed 4 times teh DSM 300 module, now they changed sensor and a cable between DSM and hub. Still the same problem. I have 24 v but a 24 to 12 converter only for this installed.
Since I am a professional captain (24 years) i only have problems with Autohelm /Raymarine products. I would never never buy or suggest them.
At the moment theYard installers are on board but despite phoning heavily with support did not yet find out the problem.
My guess is bad installation of cables (all sorts and voltages bundled up and mixed) and bad software.
probably i find out one year. it is very annoying to have the alarm (which you can t stop or turn down) every few minutes, even in harbour.

You have either the DSM250 or DSM300 digital depth sounder module installed. The C80 is not seeing it.

There is an LED status light on the DSM. For starters, it should be lit either red, yellow or green to confirm it is actually powered on. We are hoping for a green light.

Double-check the cable between DSM and C80 for tightness. Also double-check the DSM's power cable for tightness.

The DSM's are sensitive to voltage level onboard. Make sure the DSM's connections to the circuit breaker panel or battery are tight and clean. Double check with a multimeter the there is 12V DC available to the DSM.

Let me know what you find.

I don't have the sounder so can't address your question directly, but you can download all Raymarine manuals for your gear directly at www.raymarine.com

Raymarine c120 classic intermittent no data source

"Finally convinced him that **your** specs requiring the 4c cable at those lengths was correct"

You know we are Fixya and not Raymarine? We just have a Raymarine category for handy filing of questions and answers.

This question needs a factory service department technician on the phone.

As a boat owner, who doesn't have radar, and reading your post carefully, I would suggest the connection at the top of the mast. It is far more hostile up there, and it has been up there a long time.

Hi I have a raymarine c120,dose the hiden electronic compass have a reset button, when following a track on screen im am traveling sideways or a stern,,,do I need a new one or reset,??

Do you have the display configured for "heading up"? If it's "north up" then the map orientation will be fixed and your heading will change. Look at the softkeys under "presentation". The C120 doesn't have a hidden electronic compass; it uses the heading from the GPS (which will wander around when you are stopped). If you have a Raymarine autopilot it will provide compass heading to the C120.

MY RAYMARINE A65 CHART PLOTTER/ FISHFINDER HAS NOT BEEN WORKING , THE CHARTPLOTTER WORKS FINE , BUT THE FISH FINDER WONT PULL UP BOTTOM OR ANYTHING . I LOOKED AT THE LITTLE BOX THAT CONNECTS TO THE...

Likely your DSM25 (that little box that connects the transducer to the display) will need to be rebuilt. The red LED is saying that there is an internal fault with the unit. You would need to send the unit in for repair through Raymarine (as there really is not anyone else who can do it), and they would have to replace the main circuit card in the box. I believe that they are charging either $150 or $175 to repair those now... but likely the only way you will get that one to work again.

I need a new power cable for a raymarine DS500X fishfinder. Where is a good place to buy?

Contact Raymarine or your nearest Raymarine dealer. Raymarine normally has those things on their website although it's a bit cryptic to find sometimes.

I can't access dsm reset through fishfinder menu, it keeps saying no data source and I can't scroll down!

Check that there is power available at the DSM. Then verify that the DSM connector cable is correctly connected between the DSM and the C120. Finally, be sure that you have the most recent software version installed ( V 4.29). If all of that fails to bring back the DSM, try a factory reset. You accomplish this by holding down the first softkey while powering up the display. Hold the softkey until the reset countdown ends and the display begins to reboot. Be aware that a factory reset will delete any waypoints, routes, etc. so be sure to back upp anything important.

Raymarine ds500x brand new works good but will give false bottom readings occasionally corrects itself fairly quickly 30 seconds to two minutes wondering why it does this and how to correct it

If the transducer is not correctly mounted this may happen due to air, etc. If the unit never gives a depth reading that looks like dashes
( - - ) then there is likely nothing wrong with it aside from the transducer placement.
