I am unable to control my Bose Wave Radio with my cable remote. I programmed it wit the recommended codes (0674 and 1229) and neither one works. Do I have to put the Wave Radio in "IR mode"? If so, how?
The problem has nothing to do with setting up my Bose. It has to do with setting up my cable remote to transmit Bose Wave Radio IR codes. I have now learned that: 1. The Bose does indeed use IR, not RF, from the remote (per Bose tech support)
2. The setup codes for Bose (0674 and 1229) in my Cox cable remote do not work for the Wave Radio. 3. The Cox remote does not have a learning capability, so I cannot "train" it to act like a Bose Wave Radio remote.

I took mine back to the Bose store and they gave me credit on my Wave that was about ten years old toward a new CD wave radio. I would recommend taking it to the Bose store and see what they can do for you.
The Bose Wave Radio and Wave Music System use different IR codes. It is no other reason other than Bose made the remotes incompatible. This is often done to prevent interferance with systems that may be close to each other.

Press and hold the AUX mode button until all mode buttons at the top of theremote come on, then release. Enter the number 2 then one of the codes for your Bose Wave Radio provided above. Press the pound (#) button, the mode light should flashthree times. Check that the code works by trying several different functions onthe remote to make sure it will properly operate your Bose Wave Radio. Keep in mindthat some codes may not be compatible with your equipment. If this is the case,please try the other codes listed for that device until you find one that iscompatible with your equipment.

call bose tech support and register your lifestyle system with them, they in turn will start sending you update CD's those CD's may include the new IR databases that would help you find the right code. the other alternative is to call VIaSat and find out what brand's IR codes they are using( and in the IR menu on the bose try that brand's codes) A lot of manufacturers will use the codes from Motorola(worth a shot) the alternative option is to program a universal remote to control your bose, and all your equipment (if your equipment is hidden in a closet, get an RF remote, I program these for my clients all the time (for their bose systems))
Reset the radio (it has a processor) by just unplugging the power cord for about 30+ seconds and plugging it back in.
If this doesn't solve the problem, try replacing the remote battery (CR2032- can be found almost everywhere batteries are sold)
If all else fails, call Bose tech support.
The cable you connected has nothing to do with this.
Bose V 30 works on Radio frequency ............. so you need to have a unversal radio frequency remote conrol..... no IR (infrared) remote can control a bose lifestyle product..
why not use your bose radio frequency remote( the v 30 remote) to control the dvr plyer from motorola.. you can used the remote even to control your tv and other deices ..
all codes for your other systems are available in th e system settings option under remote control category to set up your system to control other devices
