Black screen By the looks of all the inputs on this subject it appears that Samsung has a quality issue with their tvs. During my five conversations with Best Buy and Samsung, not once has any of them mentioned all these problems. I guess that if you do not admit a problem is present then, there must not be a problem. I wonder how many other Samsung products fall into this category.

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main digital board.

SOURCE: Screen shows several horizontal and vertical lines.

Press the menu on the TV and let me know if the menu is effected. If the Menu if effected , you can try unplugging the power cord for a minute and replugging it back. If the issue still persists , a physical diagnostic is necessary to determine the exact defective part on your device. It could be a problem of main board or even worse, the panel.

SOURCE: best tv settings for samsung LE40A457

Best is kind of subjective since each person's eyes are different. If you are looking for a bright and vivid picture, you can go to the picture mode and change it to that setting. Usually it is called something like "Vivid" or "Dynamic." Besides that, it is all user preference. Most people prefer to just use the factory default settings.

I used 30 inch Samsung TV as a monitor and it is just showing Black and white

It cold be a cable connection issue.Loose connections or the cable are damaged or an inactive power source are the cause of the screen being in black and white. If the menu does appears on your TVs screen then the problem is with the sources.Or the screen is no longer working and needs to be replaced. or your TV is starting to die on you.

Samsung led tv UN46EH5300FXZA screen is black with no sound. Will turn on and can see menu when shining a flash light on screen. No visible back light or damage when inspecting boards. Suggestions?

Hi There,
It appears to be a case of backlight failure. It is a common problem with LED TVs. Some of the LEDs in the backlight must have gone bad. It is repairable but needs an expert to do.

Samsung HL-R5688W DLP TV Screen Burn

I don't know where you got the information that burning could not happen but that is completely wrong. If it is a monitor, tube tv, LCD/LED, DLP or any other kind of viewing device it can burn. With that out of the way if the lamp warning is coming on then it is time to replace it but your image problems are deeper than that. The screen appears to be separating. By that I mean there are three layers and sometimes more depending on the manufacturer that display color. Think of it like saran wrap laired on top of each other. As they get old or of poor quality they start to separate and show some pretty funky imaging. Without the TV in my shop I most certainly cannot 100 percent say for sure that this is it but I would strongly consider this as not fixable.

My samsung tv screen just blacked out. how do i find a reset button

Samsung is known for producing high-quality LCD televisions with excellent imaging and sound. Unfortunately, LCD televisions, like all electronics, are subject to problems on occasion. Common Samsung LCD problems include a television with sound but no picture, sometimes due to a faulty power supply. Although these problems can be difficult to fix by yourself, it is sometimes possible to extend your television's warranty by contacting Samsung.

  1. Diagnosing and Fixing A TV With No Picture
    • Problems can often occur with even relatively new Samsung LCD TVs. Some customers report their screen going black shortly after turning on the television, even though the TV's speakers continue to produce sound. You can test and rule out a number of things before concluding that your TV has a hardware defect.
First, check the input settings of your television. Often, users will experience a dark screen when first turning on their television if the selected input corresponds with a turned-off or unplugged input, such as a gaming system or DVD player. If the problem persists, try reconnecting all cables on the back or sides of the television. It's possible that one of your cables has gone dead. If you have access to other cables, try swapping these in and see if the problem persists. Some customers report that turning the television off and unplugging it for an extended period of time, up to 24 hours, can fix the black-screen issue.
    Power Supply Issues
    • If you've tried all of these suggestions and problems persist, it's possible that the power supply inside the television is defective or broken. The power supply for most Samsung LCD televisions will cost around $150, with labor costs of around $250. Unless you have a fair amount of TV repair expertise, this is probably not the sort of repair you'd want to attempt yourself. Also be aware that occasionally, especially with older television models, the part you need might be out of stock. Getting a back-ordered part shipped to you or your local repair shop could take up to a month.
    Warranty Information
    • If you register your Samsung LCD TV online, your standard one-year warranty may be subject to a three-month extension. Be sure to save your bill of sale; Samsung might ask you to send them a faxed copy of it when you ask for your warranty extension. If your television is still within its warranty period, it's probably best to contact Samsung and ask for a replacement television, or a professional repair service. Problems that fix themselves may crop up and become permanent over time, and you don't want to be stuck with a costly repair outside of your warranty period.
I hope you find it very helpful. Best regards.

NOKIA 3315 sound problem (poor sound quality). Please Help!

Poor sound and quality: If you hear buzzing sounds during conversations or either during sound alerts, bring it to the nearest repair shop for replacment of speakers. However, if you only mean that you had a hard time listening to a call because of low volume, then do the following:
1. during the conversation, press the UP button, then, you will see the volume bar to appear. Keep pressing it until you reach the desired volume. When your done, just stop pressing or tapping and it will automatically return to call menu.
Enjoy Nokia 3315.

Samsung le40a lcd - picture quality

Hi - I have some suggestions. The following factors effect picture quality:
1. Source (because LCD TVs have much higher picture quality than traditional CRT "Tube" TVs, the worse your source material, the worse it looks on a LCD TV).
DVD and Sky/Digital TV should look excellent on this TV when connected with a good quality Scart lead (nothing too expensive, but a Oxygen Free Copper Gold lead may help) directly into one of the TV's Scart inputs (avoid using "switching" boxes for multiple equipment).
Also, bear in mind that this is a HUGE screen (40 inches I think) and will REALLY show up bad source material.
The best advice I can give is, if you have HD-ready equipment use HDMI connections for everything (ideally with an HD-uplscaling DVD player which will "improve" the quality of standard DVDs on the TV - I recommend models by Philips) and check that you are in "Movie" or "Cinema" mode on the TV.
Make sure that all of your equipment, like your Sky digibox, is set to 16:9 mode (not 4:3) aswell to preserve the true widescreen aspect ratio.
Hope that helps!

HV-175 LCD

Hello,

Picture quality problems (such as lines, fuzzy image, or wrong colors)

  1. Check the cables and connections: Make sure that cable connections are securely fastened to the connectors and try reaseating the connectors. If connecting a device using component cables, make sure all three color-coded cables are connected correctly into the corresponding connectors. Check the condition and length of the cables. Cables that are longer than 3 meters (10 feet), become more susceptible to promoting signal degredation (small dots "sparkling" on the screen and image ghosting). Cables that have been bent or pinched may also cause picture quality problems. Replace the cable or try a different cable type.
  2. Check the  display issue with  a different channel. Picture quality problems on a single channel or on all channels may be caused by the TV station signal (antenna) or the cable signal source.
  3. Make sure that the image quality issue is not coming from your source signal. For example: if the image quality issues occur while viewing TV , switch the source to a DVD player to see if the image quality problems go away. If selecting a different input source (using the remote control) causes the problem to go away, troubleshoot the source device causing the problem - adjust aerial antennas, call the cable company for assistance, and . If a picture quality problem occurs on all sources, the TV or its settings may be the cause of the problem. NOTE: Higher resolution TVs will make it much easier to view signal problems coming from source signals - especially TV signals. For example, if your TV cable company experiences heavy load on their system, you may be able to detect small miscolored squares that briefly scatter across the screen (macro-blocking). On a smaller standard TV, this type of quality problem is much less noticeable on a standard TV, but can become very annoying when viewed with greater detail.
  4. Try to Reset the TV ( LCD) quality options. Please look in to User Guide to make the TV to factory Defaults..
  5. Unplug the TV from its power source. With the power cord unplugged, press and hold the power button for five seconds. Turn on the TV . If the image quality problems still exists across all types of signal sources, the TV should be serviced.

I hope that this should resolve the issue. However, if the issue still persists then please contact LCD manufacturer for further more on the issue.

Bye.
