Simply disconnect it. Water completes the circuit - so you want to make sure it is open.

How do I disconnect the Miele Water Proof System?

The waterproof (or anti flood) system is activated when water gets into the base of the appliance.

Either a leak or a spillage.

Unplug the appliance and pull it out.

If there is a back panel, take it off and use a sponge to remove all of the water in the base.

There will be a float assembly on the base of the appliance, ensure this goes back down and the switch isn't being activated.

If no back panel to take off, tilt the machine rearward about 45 degrees and drain the water out of the rear corners. Towels at the rear will help contain the water that runs out.

Water intake alert coming on however the water is turned on. No water seems to be entering the dishwasher.

No water intake, may be a defective intake hose valve. Miele calls it, the Waterproof System hose (WPS). However, first shut off your water valve to the dishwasher; disconnect the WPS; and inspect and clean the plastic filter. If the problem persists, then replace the WPS (~$170).

Miele W1203 washer drain and intake lights flashed together and now will not change modes. Can I reset it so that it will work again?

The flood protection device has activated. This is caused by a leak in the machine. It can also be caused if you are not careful when checking the drain pump, water may have gone back into appliance and activated flood protection device. If this is the case Tip machine forward, water in base of appliance will run out, and appliance will work. If Fault reoccurs then you have a leak.

My miele touchtronic w 3039 will not start. the waterproof system activated keeps blinking in the display window with the start button blinking as well and beeping

Hi,

Sounds like you may have flooded the base of the unit and activated the float switch. Tip the unit forward slightly with a towel at the base and all the water will pour out. You should be right to run the unit after that and any other water inside will dry up. it won't rust as it is stainless steel inside.

You may just have over sudded the unit by using the wrong detergent or too much. After you have the unit running again test the unit with no detergent and see if you activate the waterproof system again. if you do then you will probably have a split hose inside the unit.

Miele WT2670 message on screen "waterproof system activated". How do I reset?

I've just had this fault on this model, Its caused by a leak of water into the tray at the bottom, which activates a sensor to shut the water in flow off and thus prevent a flood. The fix is as for a posting by halldor to a question about the w4146 - ie.
Turn off and unplug, drain by the filter plug, lean the machine forward - the water flows out the bottom, plug in and it should work.
You do need to establish the cause of the leak first. Mine was a draw cord on some trousers dangling out of the door, thus preventing a proper seal, the water dribbled down the front and into the tray. Miele stated it could only be fixed by their service mechanics - I'd have had to wait 10 days!

MIele waterproof system reacted

That means that there is a leak that passed throught the waterproof system, and the water protection system had reacted putting the machine on error mode, as the water can damage electric parts, and cause serious hazard.

Sometimes you can reset the error by unplugging power cord, however you should call immediately a technician, as using the appliance when there is a problem with the waterproof system, you can be seriously injured by electric shock.

Miele Novatronic W360

there is still water in the waterproof tray at the bottom of the machine and the float switch has activated. pull the machine out (if pipes allow) and tip the machine backwards to drain the water from the tray.

Miele washer-dryer

you have activated the float switch in the base of the unit due to a water leak. this could be just excess detergent or an actual leak. if you tip the unit forward with some towels in front this will drain out the water. try running again with no detergent. if it doesn't show WPS after a couple of washes then you are ok. then change your detergent.
